We head to Geelong for the Geelong Pacing Cup as the BetDeluxe team goes through all the best bets for Saturday night harness racing.
A host of competitive Group 2 races on the card make for an exciting night of racing.
Geelong RAce 3
#2 Encipher
The best bet comes up nice and early in the program in the form of two-year-old filly Encipher.
She comes from the Emma Stewart stable and has been very well backed to win this race which tells us that driver Kate Gath will be attempting to take up the front-running role.
The scary thing about this pacer is that if she has become stronger having had his this spell in the paddock she might just blow this field apart.
Her win in the Group 1 Allwood Final was a blistering mile-rate that would just about win this race with a leg in the air.
Suggested Bet: Encipher win at $2.5
geelong race 4
#3 The Panthiest
The Panthiest looks good each-way value.
Last start, she improved to run the best race of her preparation thus far and it is the perfect platform to run another peak race this campaign.
Stepping up to 2100 metres means she gets up to the distance where she can use her stamina to stave off the challengers late in the race.
The good gate draw will see her settle closer to the pace and hopefully one off the fence so she is not held up for a run like she was last week.
Suggested Bet: The Panthiest each-way at $11 the win and $2.5 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 3, 7/ 3, 7, 10/ 3, 7, 10
Geelogn race 7
#2 Torrid saint
Torrid Saint has the early speed to find the front and control this race when the gates open.
He was brutally unlucky when running sixth in the Group 1 Victoria Cup ending up midfield on the pegs and never being able to build momentum.
This race sets up better for him with not too many pacers trying to challenge him for the lead.
Looks a big price if he gets the front as predicted.
Suggested Bet: Torrid Saint each-way at $18 the win and $3.7 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 2
Geelong race 8
#3 Catch a wave
Heavily in the corner of Catch A Wave in this race.
The competitive advantage for him is his fitness edge over his biggest challenge in Beach Villa who is first-up.
Want to see Kate Gath really push the issue early and turn this into a true high-pressure mile race in order to bust open the odds-on favourite.
If that occurs, we have ace up our sleeve and will go very close to winning.
Expecting the market to side with Catch A Wave as we get closer to race time.
Suggested Bet: Catch A Wave $3.10
