Warwick Farm hosts a bumper mid-week program of racing this Wednesday afternoon. With all the big guns in town, who will step up and dominate the competitive metropolitan meeting?
Warwick Farm Race 5
#3 Tympanist
Tympanist was great last start. The Belardo gelding flew from the clouds, and he produced some of the fastest closing sectionals of the meeting. The apprentice claim is advantageous, and he should get the run of the race from barrier five. He is ultra-consistent, and he looks well placed at Benchmark 72 level.
Western Front produced a stunning turn of foot at Kembla Grange. The Dark Angel gelding broke through for a well-deserved win, and I expect him to be thereabouts from the perfect barrier draw. The step up in grade is the primary concern.
Tarn’s Prince is a must for all wider exotics. The Unencumbered gelding hit the line strongly at Canterbury, and a peak run is just around the corner. If he can reproduce his finishing burst, he may be too good for his rivals late.
Suggested Bet: Tympanist @ $7.50
Warwick Farm Race 6
#4 Allusionist
Allusionist can run well here despite the awkward barrier draw. He was brave last start on top of the speed and stripped fitter here. If he can cross them in the early stages, he may lead them a merry dance. The 1000m looks perfect third-up from a spell, and he will look the winner on straightening.
Headwall will have supporters after a narrow defeat at Randwick last start. From an inside draw, he can camp on the leader’s back, and I expect him to be in the finish if the gaps appear at the right time. He looks talented, with plenty of improvement to come.
Premosphere can run a big race at a reasonable price. The Exosphere mare is running well without luck, and the Gary Portelli camp is currently flying. The apprentice claim is advantageous, and the middle gate looks ideal.
Suggested Bet: Allusionist @ $8.00
Warwick Farm Race 7
#3 Marnix
Marnix loves running at Warwick Farm. He was great fresh at Canterbury, and I expect a peak run second-up from a spell over his pet distance. He strips fitter here, and he looks ideally placed at this level. Barrier nine is the primary concern.
Gracilistyla was good without winning last start at Rosehill. The middle gate looks ideal, and a peak run could be on the cards for Wednesday. The James Mcdonald and Chris Waller combination must be respected.
The veteran Bugalugs is racing in great spirit. The apprentice claim could prove a winning move, and he should be thereabouts with the right run in transit. The inside barrier is advantageous, and he is too consistent to dismiss.
Suggested Bet: Marnix @ $9.00
Warwick Farm Race 8
#1 Hype
Hype is the exciting runner here from the Kris Lees stable. Formerly with Robert Hickmott, the Siyouni gelding never fired a shot during his Victorian career. His previous form in Ireland reads well for this, and his recent trials have been teasing. It may pay dividends to keep your eyes on the market.
Black Duke can peak here third-up from a spell. Both runs this preparation have been great, and he should be fitter for his recent outings. Barrier 3 is ideal, and Kerrin Mcevoy is currently riding winners for fun. Watch for the Fiorente gelding late.
Miss Fox is running well without winning. She hit the line nicely last start without threatening, and I expect her to storm home late in a winnable race. She will always need luck with her pattern of racing.
Suggested Bet: Hype @ $9.00
