Thursday greyhound racing from Albion Park and a return to Sandown Park.
Plenty of bets and money to be won on what is a cracking night of chasing and racing in Victoria and Queensland.
Sandown park race 1
#1 Tiger Isla
Sharp as a surgeon’s knife.
That is the way to describe the slick 25.83 victory from Tiger Isla at Warragul last start.
A repeat of that performance will see her as the dog to get past in this Warragul to Sandown Final.
She is armed with vicious early speed and drawing the cherry box should only enhance her chances and she may even run a better rating than last start.
Suggested Bet: Tiger Isla win at $2.5
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta 1, 5, 6
Sandown park race 2
#1 Omega Tyson
Omega Tyson struck a heap of trouble when second-up from a break at Sandown over 595 metres.
He returns to the course and distance having drawn a much better box this time and we should see the best of him in this race.
It was also his first effort of the distance and the fact that he surged to the line late in the race despite the interference would suggest it is the perfect trip for him.
He is two from two when drawn in box one and expecting that to become three from three after this event.
Suggested Bet: Omega Tyson win at $3.1
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 4
Sandown park race 3
#3 Aston cade
In a battle of the Andrea Dailly-trained greyhounds we will be in the corner of second favourite Aston Cade over the more fancied kennelmate.
He returned to his front-running best two starts back with after leading from start to finish at The Meadows over 525 metres.
The three-year-old chaser then ran around in a much tougher race last week but was outclassed after starting a $10 elect.
In a small field he should be able to find the top if he jumps cleanly and that should allow him to have the map and track position advantage over Lala Kiwi.
Suggested Bet: Aston Cade win at $3
Sandown Park race 5
#4 Gracelyn Bale
Gracelyn Bale returns to the track where she has done her best racing in recent time.
She ventured out to The Meadows last Saturday and was defeated by the smart chaser Shima Glow despite being sent out as a $1.4 favourite.
Her two most recent efforts at Sandown over 595 metres have resulted in a seven-length blitz, which was won in sub 34 seconds, and a narrow win in 34.17 when she had to do it the hard way.
Those wins mean she is two from two at the track and distance and she is the best of the night.
Suggested Bet: Gracelyn Bale win at $2.35
Albion Park Race 4
#1 Double Malt
Double Malt is a serious threat to the jet-propelled Flaming Rose.
One could have forgiven him if he was beaten for speed and sharpness when making the drop from 520 metres to 395 metres.
But he pinged the lids from box two and chased hard to win by a length on Sunday and now races on the five-day back up.
He is clearly in peak physical condition if trainer Graeme Hall is racing him so soon after last start and if he can follow the favourite’s tale throughout then he can finish over the top with strong sustained speed.
Suggested Bet: Doube Malt each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 2/ 1, 2/ 4, 8
Albion Park Race 7
#7 Barsandi
What a brilliant it was by Barsandi last start and there is no reason to hop off her coming into this race.
The big factor in her favour here is her early speed.
Most of her rivals in the market lack the zip she has from the lids and it will mean they all have to chase her down.
The wide box will be no issue and should suit her perfectly given how quickly she can jump.
Her 41.98 victory here last week is the benchmark they have to beat.
Suggested Bet: Barsandi win at $3.8
