Caulfield Race 5

#8 Unit Five

Unit Five looked super in a recent jump-out. The Bivouac colt showed high early speed, and I suspect he has been set for a first-up tilt. The early money has been significant, and the Ciaron Maher factor speaks volumes. Barrier one puts one hoof on the till, and I expect him to prove too strong and classy on Saturday. The one to beat!

Guest House can win on debut after producing a white-hot performance in a Caulfield barrier trial. The Home Affairs colt produced a devastating turn of foot to score, and I suspect he entered most punters’ little black book. The primary concern is jumping from another suburb.

Suggested Bet: Unit Five @ $3.00

Caulfield Race 7

#1 Job Done

Job Done bolted in at his latest outing. The Snitzel gelding strips fitter as a result, and I suspect he is ready for the longer trip on Saturday. Melbourne Cup winning jockey Jamie Melham takes the reins, and I expect the big boy to jump the shortest-priced favourite on the and competitive card. He maps to get a perfect run in-transit, and only bad luck throughout will see his colours lowered.

Miss Ole resumes after producing an impressive debut campaign. The Ole Kirk filly boasts serious form around some quality gallopers, and I suspect her best performance here could produce a times and margins job. The apprentice claim helps her chances, and the 1100m looks her best trip. Dismiss at your own peril!

Suggested Bet: Job Done @ $2.00

#10 Recuperato

Recuperato offers great value each way. Both performances this campaign have looked ominous, and I suspect this is her target race for the campaign. The booking of Craig Williams speaks volumes, and she finds a winnable third-up assignment. She strips fitter as a result of recent racing, and her opening quote folded faster than Superman on laundry day.

Stay Focused will start as the race favourite after two solid performances for the campaign. The Cosmic Force gelding oozes class, and he looks extremely well placed in this company. The middle draw brings him into all winning conversations, and his camp is flying at present. The big boy is knocking on the door; however, he tends to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Suggested Bet:  Recuperato @ $8.50

Randwick Race 7

#10 King's Secret

King’s Secret was good without winning first-up from a spell. The Shalaa gelding put the writing on the wall for a big preparation, and his record at the trip is outrageous. The handicapper has missed him with the allocated featherweight, and the inside draw puts one hoof on the till. The class rise is the primary concern, however, the big boy looks progressive.

Sunrise is a model of consistency. The Charm Spirit mare finds a winnable assignment, and the 2kg apprentice claim throws the Raygun amongst the pigeons. The middle gate should ensure a soft trip throughout, and if she is presented with her run at the right time, I expect her to figure in the finish. Too honest to pot!

Suggested Bet: King’s Secret @ $2.60

Randwick Race 8

#14 Just Party

Just Party is ready to explode. Both performances this preparation have been building towards his next victory, and the Justify gelding looks perfectly placed on Saturday. The 52.5kg is a luxury, and the 1400m is the perfect trip at this stage of his campaign. The early support has been significant, and I suspect he will jump closer to even money. Hard to toss!

Know Thyself is over the odds. The Autumn Sun gelding resumes with an air of expectation, and his recent jump-outs looked ominous. He loves Royal Randwick more than Tommy Smith, and his record at the journey is near perfect. The form around him is rock-solid, and a win here wouldn’t shock. The carpark draw is his biggest obstacle.

Suggested Bet: Just Party @ $4.00

Randwick Race 9

#2 Flying Thinker

Flying Thinker can run a drum at a double-figure quote. His latest performance was good without winning, and he is racing better than it reads in the bible. The Snowden strike rate is on fire at present, and I suspect it will pay dividends to watch for any late market support. Barrier nine is an issue, however, he will be charging home faster than the fat man slides down chimneys!

Virgil’s Gift has made a near-perfect start to her racing career. The Street Boss mare deserves her shot at this level, and she has been heavily supported in most all-in markets. The Rachel King and Gai Waterhouse combination must be respected, and the big girl looks the likely pilot on paper. If she can control the tempo throughout, she can lead her rivals a merry dance. Major player!

Suggested Bet: Flying Thinker @ $10.00
