Race six is where out best of the night comes up!

Melton race 2

#1 Monsieur Delacour

Monsiuer Delacour finally draws a gate where he can score up and find a positive position early in the run.

He has continually drawn wide or the middle which has meant he has needed to race wide without cover or be restrained.

This race looks to set up will for him as he can jump at his own leisure, get some cover as the leaders come across and then find the gaps when the home straight comes to use his sprint without using too much energy in the run.

Last time he drew gate one he only just missed out on a placing after being a tad unlucky and his last win actually came when jumping from gate one.

Suggested Bet: Monsieur Delacour each-way at $6 the win and $2 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 4, 9

melton race 4

#1 Duty Bound

Backing in the form of Duty Bound to knock off his main danger Harry Ovens.

He is sure to push forward and attempt to find the front in order to gain the ascendancy over Harry Ovens and control the tempo of the race.

What works in his favour as well is the drop down in distance combined with his superior stamina and staying ability in this field.

There are a few horses who have better acceleration late in the race, but he can turn this into a gruelling race and take away their sprint by setting a high pressure out in front which he can deal with.

Suggested Bet: Duty Bound win at at $2.5

Melton race 6

#4 Willie Go West

Willie Go West won with a hop, skin and a jump a fortnight ago when winning the Maryborough Cup by over three lengths.

The lead on the speed map looks up for grabs again and Chris Alford will let not let up the chance to lead on his ear if the pace suggests he should.

His main threat is Honolua Bay who will need to contend this race without the backing of racing fitness.

The race fitness is the big edge Willie Go West has up his sleeve here and, if he leads, it will be hard to see him being stopped.

Suggested Bet: Willie Go West win at $2.9

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 4

melton race 7

#1 The Pantheist

Sticking fat with The Pantheist after she saluted for us in brilliant style at good odds last weekend.

The four-year-old mare showed great gate speed for this time in a while and booted clear to take home the Angelique Club Pace by over three metres.

She is definitely a huge threat to the odds-on favourite Amazing Dream if she can find the front as we expect her to here.

Looks a nice each-way a bet for a mare in winning form.

Suggested Bet: The Pantheist each-way at $8.5 the win and $2.05 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 4/ 1, 4/ 1, 4, 8
