Harness Racing Tips

Harness Racing Tips & Previews, Saturday July 24th

The best bets for Saturday harness racing as we head into another jam-packed weekend of chasing and pacing.

Saturday night harness racing takes across the eastern seaboard with the best bets from Albion Park, Kilmore and Menangle.

Kilmore race 4

#2 struve

Having a good crack at Struve here.

He is the only Australian Pacing Gold nominated horse in this race so it would be remiss to not think Emma Stewart has targeted this race worth extra prize money for him.

He was beaten by Check In last start, who he faces again here, but this time he will get a much more favourable set up.

The rise in distance to beyond 2100 metres is exactly what he is looking for and the small field should see him get control of the lead or at worst sit outside the lead.

He is undefeated at Kilmore from his two starts at the venue and expect that to continue tonight.

Suggested Bet: Struve win at $2.70

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 2/ 6/ 1, 3

Kilmore Race 6

#13 Tango Tara

Tango Tara is going extremely for the Gath family stable and arguably should have won his last start if not being posted wide.

He started a $2.10 against Soho Bollinger who ended up nabbing him on the line and that starting price has to be respected in this race.

He has drawn the second row and Kate Gath has to manufacture a run from gate 13 but the wide run here might just work out well for him because he is likely to have cover.

Soho Bollinger will ping to the lead but there is a bit of speed drawn inside of him that can have him floundering late in the race.

Tango Tara over the top!

Suggested Bet: Tango Tara win at $3.5

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 7, 13/ 7, 13/ Field

Kilmore race 7

#3 Bettor be the bomb

Bettor Be The Bomb has little to zero luck this preparation nor has he had the right set-up to run to his best.

When he was not fit enough to run over 2240-metres he drew the perfect gate but could not take full advantage and since then he has either dropped back in distance or drawn the second line.

This race looks to be the one where things fall in his favour having drawn gate three and now being fully fit to run what looks to be a high pressure mile.

Expect him to follow Torrid Saint and he can either settle one back the pegs or in one-one with cover.

Suggested Bet: Bettor Be The Bomb each-way at $7.50 the win and $2 the place

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 3

Albion Park race 8

#4 My Ultimate Levi

Predicting My Ultimate Levi to run a personal best in this Group 1 two-year-old Triad Final.

His main challenger Dangerzone looks to be coming to the end of his preparation, whereas our pick still has a stack of improvement to make off an impressive first-up win.

Prefer to be with a two-year-old who has had a preparation to build form and fitness followed by a spell and that is what occurs with My Ultimate Levi.

It will be interesting to see if he charges to the lead or takes the sit, either way, he will be the one to get through in this race.

Suggested Bet: My Ultimate Levi win at $3.5

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 4, 7/ 4, 7, 8/ 4, 7, 8

Menangle Race 5

#7 Double Encounter

Double Encounter should have finished much closer than he did in the Group 3 Vic Frost FFA last week.

He failed to get a clean passage through at a critical stage of the race and ended up finishing fifth, beaten by 4.5 metres.

He draws gate seven here and he should be hopefully be able to find a spot midfield, one off the pegs.

If that occurs, then he is going to charging home late in the race.

Suggested Bet: Double Encounter win at $5
