We take a break from Melton as harness racing heads to Bendigo, while Menangle heads up the metro meeting in NSW.
The best bets from each venue have underlined and selected.
Bendigo Race 7
#3 Torrid Saint
Sticking fat with Torrid Saint after he landed the prize for us earlier last month.
He enjoyed a beautiful run in transit at Tabcorp Park Melton over 2240 metres in a R6890 race last start and won by four metres as a well tried $2.1 elect.
Dropping back 90 metres in distance should not prove any issues for him given he will race close to the lead.
His main danger Western Sonador has drawn to his immediate outside and Glenn Douglas can opt to score up and battle him for the lead, but will likely take the trail to have last crack in the straight.
Suggested Bet: Torrid Saint each-way at $7 the win and $1.80 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Exacta 4 & 3
Bendigo Race 8
#10 Keayang Livana
More than content to give Keayang Livana another go tonight after she was narrowly beaten last weekend.
She raced in the Group 2 Matriarch Trot when being beaten by a neck to Monaro Maro.
It was a brave effort when making the rise in distance to 2240 metres considering it was her first run at the trip this preparation.
She comes back in distance slightly which is a slight query.
However, the five-year-old mare has a liking to Bendigo with her only start here being a win.
Suggested Bet: Keayang Livana win at $4.4
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta 10/ 9/ Field
Menangle Race 2
#7 Harps
Backing in Harps to return a winner after nothing went right for him last Thursday night at Penrith.
It seems as though he found opposition a bit too sharp for him when dropping in distance to 1720 metres.
He was eased early in the run and was never really a winning hope after being bailed away inside of runners.
He ended up being beaten by 19 metres but happy to forgive him for that effort and hone in on his Goulburn win over 2240 metres.
He rises back up to that trip again in this race which will suit him perfectly.
Suggested Bet: Harps win at $4.8
Menangle Race 5
#6 Monaro Mia
Monaro Mia may not have the class of the two horses drawn outside of her in Tough Monarch and Drop The Hammer, but what she lacks in brilliance she makes up for with fitness.
Both horses drawn in gates seven and eight are resuming from efforts in the Group 1 Trotters Mile back on March 6 and probably have bigger things in mind than this R60120 rated race.
Monaro Mia is fit, up and running.
Expecting Tough Monarch and Drop The Hammer to move swiftly when the arms fold back and it should allow Monaro Mia to get a nice trail in behind.
Alternatively, her driver may opt to use the fitness advantage out in the lead and get her rivals gasping for air early in the race.
Suggested Bet: Monaro Mia each-way at $9 the win and $2.05 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 6, 7, 8
Menangle Race 6
#1 Quick Dan
The only knock on the favourite in this race is the price, hence we are in the camp of Quick Dan.
Jason Grimson looks to have found a nice race for him given he draws the marker pegs and can attempt to hold out Island Fire Dance.
His form on paper may not be glamorous of late, he should be able to control the front here or even take a trail in behind the lead if it gets too hot early.
Conceding the favourite as an unblemished record at the track and distance but she is priced way too short.
Suggested Bet: Quick Dan win at $3.1
