brisbane heat vs. sydney sixers

january 4th 7:15pm

After having their game on New Year’s Day postponed due to COVID, the Sydney Sixers now head up North to Queensland for a clash against the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba.

The Sixers currently sit second on the BBL table and have looked as strong as they did when winning the championship last year, while the Heat hit this game in winning form despite an inconsistent start to the year.

Brisbane accounted for Hobart by 14 runs and it was Heat fast bowler Xavier Barlett who took home man of the match honours after a stunning four-wicket display.

The Sixers will know this Heat team can turn it in on when the situations hands itself, especially with big-hitter Chris Lynn being able to launch runs at any given time.

However, the Heat have not really got much out of their captain this season and will need a big one from him here.

The Sixers bat deep and bowl deep; the reason for their success.

That is what will seperate them from the Heat in this game.

Suggested Bets:
Sydney Sixers head to head at $1.59
J. Vince top Sydney Sixers runscorer at $3.90

adelaide strikers vs. hobart hurricanes

january 5th 6:05pm

Hobart Hurricanes will look to bounce back from defeat when they face the Adelaide Strikers.

The Hurricanes, in particular opening batsman Ben McDermott, had taken the competition by storm after charging up the BBL table, but a shock loss to Brisbane now has them sitting in fourth spot.

Adelaide, meanwhile, sits dead last having only won the sole game through eight contests.

The Strikers are going through all sorts of problems.

If it not the bowlers failing to restrict runs and take wickets, then it is the batsmen failing to make runs and pile on the pressure.

If the Strikers bowling line up of Peter Siddle, Wes Agar and Rashid Khan fail to the come to the pitch with big performances, then McDermott might just very well win this game with his innings alone.

We have seen what the Hurricanes are capable of doing this year and there is not a lot here to suggest the Strikers can cause the upset.

Suggested Bets:
Hobart Hurricanes head to head at $1.65
B. McDermott top Hurricanes batsman at $3.60

Perth scorchers vs. sydney thunder

january 5th 9:15pm

Perth Scorchers seek revenge when they face the Sydney Thunder for the second time in as many weeks.

The Thunder became the first and only team this season to hand the Scorchers a loss after defeating them by 34 runs back on December 28 last year.

Since then, the Thunder have compiled a nice winning streak that sits at three wins on the bounce, while the Scorchers returned to form with a thumping 50-run win over Melbourne Stars.

Perth did start the favourite when it came up against the Thunder and that has to be factored into this contest.

Even though the Scorchers cannot use Optus Stadium as their fortress, the constant travel around Australia has not deterred this squad from pulling off win after win.

It highlights how connected this team is and it is a massive reason they are the BBL championship favourites.

Think they will get the better of the Thunder at the neutral venue.

Suggested Bets:
Perth Scorchers head to head at $1.66
C. Munro top Scorchers batsman at $3.60
