Australia vs. Argentina
August 3rd 10:00pm
Undefeated and full of momentum.
That is how the Boomers enter their quarter-final clash at the Olympics against Argentina.
Australia, led by flag-bearer Patty Mills, has defied all before them to reach this momentous game after a gritty victory over Germany last weekend.
The 89-76 victory registered by Brian Goorjian’s men capped off a perfect three wins from three games in Group B as Mills hit 24 points alongside six dimes.
But it was the form of Jock Landale which will have the Boomers up and about after his stint on the court produced 18 points.
His influence has been undersold at this Olympics and Argentina cannot afford to let him get under the guard nor Mills for that matter.
Luis Scola and Nuggets guard Facundo Campazzo might just be the two who can match it and provide a headache for this sturdy Australian defence.
Scola (23 points, 10 rebounds) and Campazzo (17 points, 11 assists, 7 rebounds) led Argentina to the last remaining quarterfinal spot with a win over Japan.
Australia, however, just seems to have too much depth in its starting line up and on the bench to be tossing this game away.
Suggested Bets:
Patty Mills 20+ points into Australia win at $3
Australia -8.5 at $1.82
