Sandown Hillside Race 5

#7 Tiz Worthy

Tiz Worthy was good without winning first-up from a spell. The Hanseatic filly put the writing on the wall for a big campaign, and I suspect she will appreciate the significant drop in grade. She strips fitter as a result of recent racing, and the Jamie Melham and Lloyd Kennewell combination must be respected. Hard to toss!

Angel Ladder resumes with an air of expectation. The North Pacific filly turned heads during her last preparation, and the Ciaron Maher polish should never be underestimated. The 2kg apprentice claim could prove decisive, and the inside draw will allow her to roll forward and pilot the field. Big watch!

Mr Magnus is over the odds! The Magnus gelding is racing better than it reads in the bible, and its opening double-figure quote has been met with great support. The big boy should be rock-hard fit after a lengthy campaign, and he finds his pet distance on Wednesday. The grandstand weight and his recent winning record are among the primary concerns.

Suggested Bet: Tiz Worthy @ $4.00

Sandown Hillside RACE 7

#5 Yukaina

Yukaina was a dominant winner on debut at Colac. The Maurice gelding put his rivals to the sword a long way from home, and he broke all on-course clocks in the process. The Mitchell Freedman camp are training winners for fun at present, and I suspect they have a high opinion of the lightly raced three-year-old. He is clearly the one to beat on exposed form.

Cripps resumes after a string of impressive jump-outs. The inside draw is advantageous, and he is a winner previously fresh. The 1300m looks a great starting point for the campaign, and his opening quote has been more than nibbled at. The current track conditions suit to a tee, and the inform John Allen takes the reins. He will be thereabouts.

Jamesjohno was good without winning first-up at Stawell. The Strasbourg gelding looks well placed in this company, and he meets easier opposition. The 1300m is in his wheelhouse, and I expect his opening quote to continue to shorten before the barriers open. His racing pattern and style will always require an element of good fortune.

Suggested Bet: Yukaina @ $2.70

Eagle Farm Race 5

#11 Oohlalouvre

Oohlalouvre represents great value each way. The Under The Louvre mare is a model of consistency, and she finds a very winnable assignment on Wednesday. Her record at the 1000m must be respected, and she maps perfectly in this event. Watch for the talented girl late!

Bundella is racing well at present. The Deep Field gelding is never far away, and he looks poised to strike from a favourable draw. The 3kg apprentice claim puts him into all winning conversations, and he has been well supported in most all-in markets. He tends to find one or two better at the pointy end of a contest.

Larado will jump in the red. The Toronado gelding has made a near-perfect start to his racing career, and he looks untapped with plenty of upside. He deserves his shot at this level, and there has been a tsunami of money for the big boy early doors. The carpark draw is the biggest deterrent.

Suggested Bet: Oohlalouvre @ $7.00

Eagle Farm Race 7

#7 Ariat

Ariat can run a race at cricket-score odds. The Kobayashi mare was a brilliant last-start winner at Gatton, and she comes to town up and about. Her form prior is rock-solid, and I suspect she has the fitness edge on the majority of her rivals after a lengthy and fruitful campaign. The 3kg apprentice claim could prove the winning difference, and her record at the trip is first-class. Over the odds!

First Empire will start a short-priced favourite after producing two honest performances for the preparation. The inside draw should give his rivals sleepless nights leading into Wednesday’s event, and the key appointment of Michael Rodd speaks volumes. The 1400m is ideal at this stage of his spell, and he will leave the barriers as an odds-on favourite. He may need some luck getting off the dulex as they run for the doctor.

He’s For The Girls is a must for all broader multiples and exotics. The 3kg apprentice claim puts him into winning calculations, and he meets the usual suspects and pelicans here. The step-out in the trip is advantageous, and I suspect he has been trained to the minute for this event. The carpark draw and his ability to shy at the camera are his biggest obstacles.

Suggested Bet: Ariat @ $34.00
