This Wednesday, Kensington and Ballarat Synthetic are the feature meetings in their respective states. With tricky and competitive winter programs front and centre at both venues, find out below who our experts are expecting to take home the mid-week cash!
Kensington Race 5
#1 Super Nui
Super Nui is flying at present. The Super One filly is chasing a hat-trick of victories and looks well placed in this company. The 1400m is in her wheelhouse, and she handles all track conditions. She meets similar opposition, and she has been well supported since acceptances. Her racing pattern and style always requires an element of good fortune.
California Sunrise is a model of consistency. The Pierro mare is racing extremely well without winning, and I suspect her next victory is just around the corner. The talented four-year-old will appreciate the drop-in class and has the fitness edge on most of her rivals. Her recent winning record is the primary concern.
Peschiera looks the likely leader on paper. The I Am Invincible mare is racing in career best form, and she simply doesn’t know how to run a bad race. From barrier nine, she will slide forward and pilot the field, and if she can pinch a break before they run for the doctor, she may prove hard to run down. Acid test!
Suggested Bet: Super Nui @ $3.30
Kensington RACE 6
#4 Inside Man
Inside Man was a brilliant last-start winner at Canterbury. The Lonhro gelding savaged the line from a different suburb and got the job done on the wire. The step out in trip is advantageous, and the 3kg apprentice claim puts one hoof on the till. The ideal inside draw will allow him to sit closer in the run, and his camp is training winners for fun. Hard to toss!
Delrico resumes after producing a quiet barrier trial. The Kingman gelding was ultra-consistent during his spring campaign, and I suspect he is ready to reach new heights this preparation. He finds his pet distance on Wednesday, and the James McDonald and Chris Waller combination must be respected. It may pay dividends to watch for any significant late market support.
Florino caught the eyes of punter first-up at Bathurst. The Mikki Isle gelding deserves his shot at this level, and the 2kg apprentice claim brings him into all winning conversations. The consistent five-year-old is a second-up specialist, and if he can bring his best form to town, he can figure in the finish.
Suggested Bet: Inside Man @ $5.00
Ballarat Synthetic Race 6
#2 If I Was You
If I Was You was a brilliant first-up winner at Geelong. The Hellbent gelding sprouted wings late, and he put the writing on the wall for a fruitful and successful campaign. The 1100m suits at this stage of his campaign, and he is ideally drawn in a middle gate. The early money speaks volumes, and if Joe Bowditch presents the big boy with his run at the right time, he will be incredibly hard to hold out.
Just Remember It strips fitter after producing two promising performances for the campaign. He finds a suitable trip third-up from a spell, and I suspect he will control the tempo with a clean break from an inside draw. The enigmatic three-year-old has experience on the synthetic, and the form around him has stood up time and again. If he is allowed to cheat the clock throughout, the race could be over before they run for the judge.
Just Bolts is airbourne. The Winning Rupert gelding has won two on the bounce, and he looks well placed to continue on his winning ways. His record at the trip must be respected, and he has been specked at a price since fields were finalised. The class rise and the awkward barrier are among the primary concerns.
Suggested Bet: If I Was You @ $4.60
Ballarat Synthetic Race 8
#3 All So Clear
All So Clear looks poised to strike. The So You Think gelding is racing in great heart, and he hasn’t missed a top four spot since the moon landing. The six-year-old finds a winnable assignment and looks extremely hard to hold out from a perfect inside draw. The apprentice claim puts him into winning calculations, and I suspect his astute camp will have him fully wound up for Wednesday’s event. Key player!
Mozu Marcassin was ok without threatening at Ballarat. The Silver State gelding strips fitter after a solid preparation, and he looks suited over the longer trip. He is undefeated on the synthetic, he his double figure quote has been nibbled at in early betting. The Matthew Cumani camp has an opinion on the consistent five-year-old, and I suspect he can figure in the finish with even luck in transit.
Eight Under was an impressive last-start winner at Mildura. The Spieth gelding is notching up victories for fun at present, and he looks dangerous jumping from a perfect inside draw. The 2100m is advantageous, and the inform Zac Spain already has a winning association with the big boy. This is his most challenging test to date.
Suggested Bet: All So Clear @ $2.80
