Sunshine Coast Race 6

#5 Know Thyself

Know Thyself is flying at present! The Autumn Sun gelding was a brilliant last-start winner at Rosehill, and he looks ideally placed in this company. The talented three-year-old handles all track conditions, and I suspect he has more upside and ability than his opposition. There has been a flood of money for the big boy since markets opened, and he looks one of the better bets on a stunning card of racing.

Xidaki will have supporters after producing a consistent campaign to date. The Zoustar gelding has been screaming out for the mile all preparation, and he looks dangerous jumping from an inside barrier. With even luck, he will pilot the field, and if he can pinch some cheap sectionals throughout, he may prove hard to run down.

Suggested Bet: Know Thyself @ $2.05

Sunshine Coast RACE 7

#1 The Inevitable

The Inevitable has recaptured his mojo. The rising nine-year-old has turned back the clock this campaign, and he looks poised to strike on Saturday. The Dundeel gelding savaged the line in the BRC Sprint, and his performance in the Stradbroke Handicap was full of merit. The significant class drop is advantageous, and I suspect he been trained to the minute for this event. Hard to toss!

Rocketing By is too consistent and honest to dismiss. His effort from an impossible position in the Eye Liner was first-class, and I suspect his next victory is just around the corner. The 1400m will suit at this stage of his preparation, and he strips fitter after his recent outing. His racing pattern and style will always require an element of good fortune.

Suggested Bet: The Inevitable @ $5.00

#3 Post Impressionist

Post Impressionist is an intriguing prospect. The ex William Haggas runner was a dominant winner in the Manion Cup at his first Australian outing, and his impressive career record and international form should give his opposition sleepless nights. His best effort here could be fences an panels better than his rivals, and I suspect his quote will shorten significantly before the barriers open. Barrier sixteen is the primary concern.

Knight’s Choice is knocking on the door! All runs this preparation have been full of merit, and the form around him reads incredibly well for this event. The 2400m plays into his favour, and the current track conditions puts him into all winning conversations. His inability to get the job done is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: Post Impressionist $3.00

Sunshine Coast Race 9

#13 Termagant

Termagant is a promising type. The Deep Field filly has hardly put a foot wrong to date, and she deserves her shot at this level on Saturday. The 3kg apprentice claim puts her into all winning calculations, and I suspect the 1000m is her best distance. The enigmatic three-year-old has plenty of upside, and I expect her to start race favourite in a very competitive line-up.

Defiant Spirit is the class runner of the field. The Spirit Of Boom gelding resumes after a successful campaign, and he looks well placed in this company. The handicapper hasn’t missed him, and I am unsure the short trip is advantageous fresh. His recent barrier trial was good, and I am confident he is in for a fruitful and successful preparation. I would prefer to support him deeper into his campaign over further.

Suggested Bet: Termagant @ $4.00

Flemington Race 7

#4 Who Dares

Who Dares looks the likely leader in this event. The Deep Field gelding was an impressive winner at the track and distance two starts back, and the form out of the race has repeatedly stood up. The rock-hard fit four-year-old is a 1200m specialist, and I suspect he will look like the winner as the field passes the famous Flemington clock tower. The length of his campaign is the primary concern.

It’sourtime is a marvel. The unpredictable Time For War gelding loves Flemington more than Damien Oliver, and his record at the straight-six is outrageous. The rising seven-year-old has had an inconsistent campaign, and he can bomb the start when the barriers open. If he brings his best race-day manners, I expect him to figure in the finish. Take on trust!

Suggested Bet: Who Dares @ $8.00

Flemington Race 8

#1 Munhamek

Munhamek is chasing a hat trick of victories. The Dark Angel gelding was braver than Mel Gibson in the Swan Hill Cup two starts back, and he impressively carried the grandstand to victory at the track and distance at his latest outing. From the middle gate the old boy will drift back and watch the race unfold, and if Jamie Mott presents him with his run at the right time, I expect the Gold Rush winner to gobble up his rivals late. Hard to toss!

King Magnus doesn’t know how to run a bad race. The Magnus gelding looked the winner here two starts back, and I suspect he is ready to peak on Saturday. The classy eight-year-old will sit midfield with cover, and if the evergreen galloper sees daylight before the 300m mark, he will make his presence felt late. His recent winning record is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: Munhamek @ $5.00
