We’re through to the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup.
BetDeluxe looks at all four games to find the winners and how they will win.
Croatia vs. Brazil
10th December 2:00AM
There is still a way to go, but all signs point towards a Brazil World Cup win. The emphatic win over South Korea made a statement to everyone else at the World Cup that this is a team heavily intent on going all the way.
Tottenham star Richarlison has been exceptional as a constant scoring threat, with three goals to his name. He continues to be the leading man up forward for the Selecao in a deep attack that includes Junior, Raphinia and the exceptional Neymar, who took no time finding his way after a brief absence with an ankle injury.
Croatia has been up and down so far in this tournament, but as the reigning runners-up, they have the know-how to win through. Josip Stanicic is still a concern after missing the win over Japan through injury. If he can’t return to full fitness in time, it leaves a big hole in the Croatian defence that would already have its hands full. Ivan Perisic has been excellent up forward, as has Andrejs Kramaric, while Luka Modric could unleash his best.
Brazil might be a little nervous at this stage, having exited the tournament in the 2018 quarter-finals, but they should have no issues in winning this one.
Suggested Bet: Same game multi
Leg 1: Brazil to win
Leg 2: Richarlison to score
Leg 3: Total corners under 8.5
Total: $5.25
Netherlands vs. Argentina
10th December 6:00AM
Argentina is hitting its straps just at the right time, shrugging off a surprise early loss to advance against every opponent it has faced clinically. Lionel Messi has been outstanding in his final World Cup campaign, scoring three goals and playing a significant role in all three wins. He is expected to be prominent again, and the Dutch will focus all energy on curtailing his brilliance. Another significant factor for the Argentinians is Angel Di Maria, who has some injury concerns but could break the game open if he plays.
The Netherlands is the best team Argentina has faced so far and should serve it right up to them. Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo are dangerous in the open and could score early to upset the apple cart. It will count for the Netherlands that they have an excellent recent record against their opponents and have not lost any of their past 18 games. But this is as important a game as they get, and all signs point to Argentina winning.
Suggested Bet: Same game multi
Leg 1: Lionel Messi to score first
Leg 2: Argentina to win
Leg 3: Argentina over 2.5 corners
Total: $7.00
Morocco vs. Portugal
11th December 2:00AM
Morocco is through to the quarters after easily the biggest upset of the round of 16, earning their way through to the quarter-finals for the first time in their history after winning on penalties against Spain.
They are still heavy underdogs, but that has not been an issue so far, with Achraf Hakimi and Hakim Ziyech forming a formidable 1-2 punch. Portugal demolished Switzerland in their round of 16 win and are in red-hot form.
Goncalo Ramos stepped up to be the man of the hour, scoring a hat-trick as Cristiano Ronaldo played the rare spectator role after being demoted to the bench. Ronaldo did not take his snubbing too kindly, and his angst could be an unwelcome distraction for his country. Even without their generational talent on the pitch, Portugal has everything set to advance through to the final four.
Suggested Bet: Goncarlo Ramos to score at $2.35
England vs France
11th December 6:00AM
The most even of the four quarter-finals promises to be an epic clash, with both sides barely putting a foot wrong. England is looking as solid and confident as it ever has, overpowering Senegal in the round of 16 after a brilliant group stage.
Harry Kane has been the talisman of the English attack, appearing precisely when needed and has been one of the best leaders throughout the World Cup. Jude Bellingham has been extraordinary in the midfield and has fast become one of the hottest properties in the world based on his performances so far.
But as good as England has been, France still seems a class above. Olivier Giroud has been instrumental in attack while the dazzling Kylian Mbappe is in a league of his own, posting a tournament-leading five goals to date. Look for Les Bleus to advance here, with the Cup waiting at least another four years before it’s coming home to England.
Suggested Bet: Same game multi
Leg 1: France win
Leg 2: Kylian Mbappe to score
Leg 3: Harry Kane to score
Leg 4: Over 4.5 corners total
Total: $13
