After a big day on the punt yesterday, with the tips going 3 winners and a third-place from four selections, let’s get on aboard for Tuesday racing.
The best of the day comes up in race three as the BetDeluxe finds all the best bets from Benalla.
benalla race 1
#10 nicco roll
Nicco Roll brings what looks to be a fairly strong form reference for this Benalla maiden.
The three-year-old filly by Nicconi ran around in a maiden over 1100 metres at Benalla last start and ran second behind Starlea.
That winner has since come out and run well BM-64 grade at Sandown, which is a good guide to the form.
Stable has opted to apply blinkers for the first time in order to really switch her on.
Craig Newitt being booked tells us this horse will be ridden positively from the gates.
Suggested Bet: Booker Tee win at $3.90
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 7, 9, 10
benalla race 3
#7 zero cases
Zero Cases had been giving a long time to get himself right before making his racing debut.
He had been given seven jump outs and has clearly learnt a lot as a horse since running fourth on debut at Kyneton over 1200 metres.
He has since had a jump out to keep his legs ticking over for this next run, which sees him rise to 1400 metres.
Think the step up in distance is actually right up his alley here.
The inside barrier should allow Craig Newitt to land either in the lead or handy to the speed.
With improved fitness, this horse will be very hard to beat.
Suggested Bet: Zero Cases win at $2.70
benalla race 5
#5 fioroso
After finding Barry Goodwin’s winner at Swan Hill yesterday, we are following in the stable again.
This time, it is in the form of Fioroso who stays at the mile after running well behind Staredown and Figo The Great last start.
Think he just got a little too far out his ground to be a winning factor and this race seems to set up a little better for him.
Inside barrier and settling closer to the speed is going to be in his favour.
Another big tick is the blinkers being applied again, which signals stable intent.
Outside of the main favourite, he is the one who can finish with a flurry and knock this field off.
Suggested Bet: Fioroso each-way at $5 the win and $2.35 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 4 & 5
benalla race 7
#4 frostin'
Taking a heavy set against the favorite in this race who looks horrible value at the $2.30.
Instead, we will side with Frostin’ who put together a solid jump out at Flemington over 800 metres.
He had promised above average ability early in his career, but hasn’t really put it all together.
He finds a very suitable race upon resuming and his closing splits late in his jump out were good enough to suggest he can run strongly here.
Draws a beautiful barrier and Michael Poy can target him to either lead or camp in behind.
Either way, he is a great each-way chance.
Suggested Bet: Frostin’ each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.25 the place
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 4, 6, 9
