Undefeated mare Marabi heads the field for the Group 1 William Reid Stakes on Friday night.
The BetDeluxe team has found all the best bets and value ahead of a big weekend of racing.
moonee valley race 1
#3 able willie
Getting back around a bend should suit Able Willie after he was well held by Overpass at Flemington
The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old gelding started a $5 elect behind odds-on favourite Overpass and was not overly disgraced for his first time up the Flemington straight.
He has the conditioning now to run out a strong race over this distance coming back in grade and represents a much better bet than his stablemate Zarastro who only has an 1100-metre run to his name this preparation.
Suggested Bet: Able Willie win at $3.10
Confidence Rating: 7/10
moonee valley race 2
#1 jucconi
Did not have much luck when resuming at Moonee Valley over 1200 metres.
He had to check off heels and was cramped for room as the field swung for home.
By the time he saw daylight, the winner was off and gone as he flashed home to run second.
Wide barrier here should see him have no trouble finding a clear run and with the claiming apprentice in Madison Lloyd retaining the ride, expect her to press towards the lead when they jump.
Suggested Bet: Jucconi win at $3.20
Confidence Rating: 7.5/10
moonee valley race 3
#7 nanagui
Nanagui is ready to snap her maiden status.
She has two runner-up finishes to her name and both those runs have actually been very brave.
Her efforts have come in Group 3 grade where she toom the step from 1000 metres on debut behind Sebonak, to 1200 metres up the Flemington straight behind a smart type called Ruthless Dame.
As far as conditioning goes, that last start effort will have her stamina levels ready to cope with the 1200-metre island.
Jamie Kah, barrier four, Peter Moody… tick, tick, tick.
Suggested Bet: Nangui win at $3.2
Confidence Rating: 8.5/10
moonee valley race 4
#3 flying mascot
Tom Dabernig’s stable star.
She is a little beauty this mare.
Jumps cleanly, has a high cruising speed and possesses a devastating change of gears which has left the opposition in her wake this campaign.
She will control the lead here and her only run at this track was a blistering four-length win the Group 3 Tesio Stakes last spring.
Good luck beating her.
Suggested Bet: Flying Mascot win at $1.65
Confidence Rating: 9/10
moonee valley race 5
#8 the last napolean
The Last Napolean always needs a bit of luck given his running pattern.
A fast-run 955-metre race is exactly the type of race he needs to show his best and he gets Craig Williams to pilot him here.
Hoping the seas can part ways as the field heads into the straight in order to give thise horse clear galloping room.
If he gets the lucky breaks, he has the late closing sectionals to run over the top of them.
Suggested Bet: The Last Napolean each-way at $16 the win and $3.80 the place.
Confidence Rating: 4/10
moonee valley race 6
#5 cuffe's grange
Jye Mcneil sticking with this horse is a good sign.
Mcneil rode him to a second-place finish behind the in-form Angel Rock at Moonee valley over 2040 metres last start.
It was the first time he has ever run over that particular track and distance, and it would have done him the world of good.
With Austrata and French War coming out, as well as the $2.15 favourite Inverell looking slightly vulnerable after a last-start failure, Cuffe’s Grange has the runs on the board to, at the very least, run top three.
Suggested Bet: Cuffe’s Grange each-way at $8 the win and $2.10 the place.
Confidence Rating: 6/10
moonee valley race 7
#14 zouzarella
Marabi is clearly the one to beat and deserves favouritism after her scorching win in the Oakleigh Plate.
However, Zouzarella comes up enormous odds for a horse who loves racing at Moonee Valley.
She is two from two at the track and has been participating in some pretty hot Sydney three-year-old races without disgracing herself.
Getting back onto a much drier surface should see her improve.
Worth a little peanut each-way.
Suggested Bet: Zouzarella each-way at $41 the win and $8 the place.
Confidence Rating: 6.5/10
moonee valley race 8
#8 so you see
So You See could be a potential star on the rise.
She won in spectacular fashion when making her debut at Pakenham over 1400 metres and then ran a cracker in the Group 2 Kewney at Flemington over the mile.
The tongue tie goes on here in order to get her breathing much better than she has in her races.
Expect an improvement of anywhere between a length or two on what she has done to date.
Could be a moral if she comes on from her Flemington run.
Suggested Bet: So You See win at $3.7
Confidence Rating: 8.5/10
