Canterbury Park and Bendigo are the places to be this Wednesday, with competitive fields and strong prize money on offer.
Canterbury Park Race 5
#2 Monte Veebee
Monte Veebee was good without winning fresh. The Snitzel gelding looked the winner as they ran for the doctor, and I suspect he strips fitter as a result of recent racing. His second-up record is rock-solid, and the inside draw puts him into all winning conversations. He tends to find one or two better at the pointy end of a contest.
Rivendell is too consistent to pot. The Ole Kirk gelding was resilient under the big weight fresh, and he looks well placed in this company on Wednesday. He finds his pet distance second-up, and the current track conditions suit to a tee. The big boy can threaten even with luck in transit.
Unstopabull was a brilliant winner fresh. The Russian Revolution gelding grabbed his rivals in the shadows, and he meets the usual suspects here. His record at the track and trip speaks volumes, and he should be rock-hard fit at this stage of his campaign. His racing pattern and style always requires an element of good fortune.

Canterbury Park RACE 6
#1 Ruination
Ruination can resume a winner. The Wootton Bassett gelding has arguably the best exposed form in the race, and his recent trials were first-class. His first-up record must be respected, and he looks well placed meeting easier opposition. The 3kg apprentice claim is advantageous, and his opening quote has been met with great support. Hard to toss.
Action King comes to town up and about after a dominant display in Canberra. The Harry Angel gelding meets a tougher test here, however, his best performance would find him fighting out the finish. The 3kg apprentice claim helps his plight, and I suspect this has been a target race from the astute camp. The awkward gate is the primary concern.
Zale is a model of consistency. The Denman gelding hasn’t missed a top two finish since the moon landing, and I suspect he has the fitness edge on the majority of his rivals. His pilot is in career best form, and I suspect he will look he winner as they cut the ribbons. His overall winning record is the primary concern.

Bendigo Race 5
#2 Electric Elvis
Electric Elvis is flying at present. The Time Test gelding is climbing through his grades successfully, and he is more than capable of writing another victory next to his name on Wednesday. The addition of Damian Lane speaks volumes, and I suspect better races await the big boy. The early money tells a story, and the camp are airbourne at present. Jumping from a different suburb is his biggest challenge.
Powerbound is over the odds. The Power gelding is racing better than it suggest in the bible, and he deserves his shot at this level. The talented seven-year-old deserves his shot at this level, and he looks the likely leader on paper. If he can cheat the clock throughout, he will look the winner as heads turn for home.
Razzo Rosso was a brilliant first-up winner at Ballarat. The Impending gelding is undefeated second-up, and he looks progressive despite his age. His races have been spaced throughout his career, and he has had several trainers. He has ability; however, there have been issues. If he is sound, he can play a role. Take on trust!

Bendigo Race 7
#1 Dreamzel
Dreamzel is a model of consistency. The Deep Field mare doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and she meets easier opposition here. The 1.5kg apprentice claim puts her into all winning conversations, and she finds her pet distance on Wednesday. The tsunami of early money indicates another bold and forward showing, and her best performance here would prove too strong. Yes please!
Call To Glory can run a drum at a price. The Encryption gelding is knocking on the door, and he meets an easier assignment here. He is a 1000m specialist, and I suspect he will lead them a merry dance with a clean break from the gates. His fate may be decided from the awkward gate during the opening furlong.
Always Enuff is over the odds. The Capitalist mare resumes with an air of expectation, and her recent jump-outs have caught the eyes of punters. Her fresh form is elite, and the inside draw puts her into contention. Dismiss at your own peril.
