Australia vs. Sri Lanka

head to head

It may be a dead rubber in terms of a result in the series, but the competitive juices will still be flowing Australia meets Sri Lanka with an unassailable 3-0 lead in their T20 series.

The Australians made light work of Sri Lanka at Manuka Oval on Tuesday night as it notched up a series win.

Having to chase down 122 runs for victory, Australia did it with three overs and change to spare thanks to a quick-fire knock of 39 from Glen Maxwell.

Josh Inglis also continued his good form since debuting for Australia with 21 off 18 balls.

But it has been the bowling attack for Australia that has continually made the headlines in this series and something Sri Lanka has struggled with through the first three fixtures.

Jhye Richardson took three wickets and was named man of the match in the six-wicket thumping of Sri Lanka and will be a thorn in its side yet again if he keeps up that form here.

Runs have been hard to come by for Sri Lanka with Pathum Nissanka its best hope of amassing match-winning runs.

Australia may opt to rest a heap of players for this game and that would see Sri Lanka in with some hope.

Australian skipper Aaron Finch said there might be a shuffling around the batting and bowling order in order to test the best combinations and depth going forward.

But even if they are trialling different things, at first glance, the depth of Australian batting and bowling stocks in the T20 format is likely going to be too much for the visitors to handle.

Expect Maxwell to lead the line again in his home state of Victoria.

Australia to make it 4-0 at the home of cricket.
