The Meadows Greyhound Tips & Previews, Saturday 29th January

The best bets from the BetDeluxe greyhound experts ahead of the 12-race card from The Meadows tonight.

A big card at The Meadows is on tonnight with 12 races to get through.

The best bets on the program are scattered throughout as the BetDeluxe greyhound experts all the tips to back.

The Meadows race 3

#2 sir harley

Sir Harley has been racing in much tougher company than what he faces in this race.

The David Crawford-trained chaser has either drawn terribly or been unlucky through his last few runs, but gets the chance to make amends from box two.

The last time he raced in G5 grade he started a $2.2 favourite at The Meadows and was unable to cross from a wide box.

A favourable inside draw and a race that lacks any serious early speed is what sets up nicely for him here.

Suggested Bet: Sir Harley win at $3

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 2 & 4

The Meadows race 4

#1 my boy rockin'

My Boy Rockin’ has placed in all his four starts at the Meadows with a string of bridesmaid finishes to his name.

He has had excuses in those efforts though with wide boxes or squeeze boxes being to his detriment.

But box one in this event opens up a massive opportunity for him to find the front early in the race, find the rail – most importantly – and bound away in the back straight to put the race beyond doubt.

Like the fact trainer Brian Smith used a weaker race in Temora to build back this dog’s winning confidence.

He is undefeated when jumping box one with two starts for two wins and is sure be the one to knock off the favourite Keep It Black.

Suggested Bet: My Boy Rockin’ win at $4

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 3

The Meadows race 5

#4 fernando's quest

Fernando’s Quest is one of the most in-form greyhounds on the Australian racing scene and he enters this Final race with supreme winning momentum.

He ripped away out in the lead to win this heat in a sparkling time of 34.24 over 600 metres last start and is the clear favourite in the betting after that performance.

It is hard to stop a dog who is jumping so cleanly and clearing away from his rivals so early in his races.

Highly doubt box four will give him any trouble given how well he has been starting his races.

Nothing here to suggest he has taken a backwards step from his last few runs and he should be able to make it four wins in a row.

Suggested Bet: Fernando’s Quest win at $2.7

the meadows race 7

#1 westar aileen

Westar Aileen is ready to win again having drawn the ideal box for a dog of her racing style.

She should be able to get enough space from box one as she boots up to hold the lead.

The only threat is that the three crosses her with early speed, but even then, she has the mid-race squeeze to get past Drako Bale.

Drako Bale has also been jumping quickly against slower dogs than Westar Aileen, so we still expect her to find the front from the cherry and be hard to hold out.

A repeat of the 30.17 runner-up finish at this course and distance will likely see her win this race.

Suggested Bet: Westar Aileen win at $3.7

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 1 & 3
