BBL Tips and Previews, Wednesday 29th December

Two games on Wednesday night and a big match between two BBL heavyweights greet us for the mid-week preview of the best BBL bets.

With the Ashes all sealed up, the attention now turns to mid-week action in the BBL as Sydney and Brisbane get the ball rolling for the best BBL bets from BetDeluxe.

We then head into the Renegades battling the Hurricanes, while Thursday dishes up a headline clash between the Scorchers and the Stars.

sydney sixers vs. brisbane heat

december 29th 6:05pm

It will be a clash of the big hitters when reigning BBL champions Sydney Sixers ready themselves for a battle against the Chris Lynn-led Brisbane Heat.

Sixers opener Josh Phillipe and Lynn will be pitted against each other in this contest in what is sure to be highly entertaining fixture of swashbuckling batting by both batsmen.

The Sixers have clearly looked the better of the two teams as they looked to defend their BBL 10 crown and have charged to a 4-1 win-loss record, while the Heat sit in sixth spot with a losing 2-4 tally.

Many questions have been asked of Lynn’s leadership as he was seen smiling while his paceman Liam Guthrie was carted for 70 runs off his four overs in the 20-run loss to the Stars.

Tough to see the Sixers dropping this game with the form they are in at the moment.

They are just such a well-rounded team with great batting and bowling depth that is hard to match.

Suggested Bets:
Sydney Sixers head to head at $1.59
M. Henriques top Sydney Sixers runscorer at $4.75
C. Lynn top Brisbane Heat runscorer at $3.3

melbourne renegades vs. hobart hurricanes

december 29th 7:15pm

The Melbourne Renegades will seek to halt their losing streak when they head out for a Wednesday night fixture against the Hobart Hurricanes at Marvel Stadium.

The Renegades have looked much more competitive than their horrendous BBL 10 campaign, but still look nowhere near making finals, while the Hurricanes sit third on the table after notching up consecutive wins heading into this match.

Hurricanes opener Ben McDermott is slowly starting to climb up through the BBL batting ranks after he tallied up a career-high score over 110 runs off only 60 deliveries in the seven-wicket win over Adelaide on Monday.

Batting has been an area of concern for the Renegades throughout the season and with Aaron Finch not exactly in great form, it makes their task even harder.

Suggested Bets:
Hobart Hurricanes head to head at $1.57
Ben McDermott top Hurricanes batsman at $3.70

perth scorchers vs. melbourne stars

december 30th 9:15pm

Perth will attempt the double over the Melbourne teams when they face the Stars at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night.

The Scorchers easily swept aside the Renegades in back-to-back games before their first loss of the season against the Sydney Thunder on Tuesday night.

Perth still holds fort in first place on the BBL table and boasts an impressive 6-1 record through seven games, while the Stars sit fifth after holding off Brisbane Heat by 20 runs on Monday mainly in part due to a brilliant Joe Clarke and Hilton Cartwright batting partnership.

The Stars have the big-hitting ball strikers who can cause the Scorchers bowling attack some headaches, but they are so hot and cold.

The men in green have been hard to trust all season and are prone to a stinker.

Have to back in the Scorchers here given the body of work it has shown this season, but it would not surprise us at all if the Stars knocked them off.

Suggested Bets:
Perth Scorchers head to head at $1.62
G. Maxwell top Stars batsman at $3.80
M. Marsh top Scorchers batsman at $3.3
