BBL season 11 chugs along into Christmas as our cricket experts find the best bets ahead of three big fixtures on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.
hobart hurricanes vs. melbourne stars
December 24th 3:30pm
Christmas Eve BBL 11 action gets underway when Hobart Hurricanes play host to the Melbourne Stars at UTAS on Friday evening.
In what has been a topsy turvy start to the season for both teams, the Stars head into this game as the $1.72 favourites following a narrow loss to last year’s BBL champions the Sydney Sixers.
The Stars have looked the better of the Hurricanes this season despite a disastrous opening game.
Hobart has only managed to win one of its opening four fixtures and could not manage to keep up with the Perth Scorchers in back-to-back games.
The Hurricanes, aside from a 213-run total in their second game, have struggled to make meaningful runs with the bat.
It is an area the Stars can exploit in this game.
Suggested Bets:
Melbourne Stars head to head at $1.72
Glen Maxwell top Stars batsman at $3.80
sydney thunder vs. sydney sixers
december 26th 6:05pm
The Sydney BBL Derby ensures for another chapter when the Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder clash at the SCG.
With the Sixers sitting second and the Thunder sitting third, a win for either team will creep them closer to top spot and within touching distance of the Perth Scorchers.
The Sixers have looked on track to defend their BBL crown with a strong 3-1 record led by none other than star opener Josh Phillipe and gun BBL all-rounder Moises Henriques.
The Thunder will be relying upon the likes of Saqib Mahmood, Daniel Sams and Tanveer Sangha to keep this brutal Sixers batting line up in check.
This game looks tough to tip from a head to head perspective, so a prop bet in the batting market on Phillipe is the way to go here.
Suggested Bets: Josh Phillipe top Sixers batsman at $3.2
perth scorchers vs. melbourne renegades
december 26th 9:15pm
The Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades meet for the second time this week when the pair take on each other at Marvel Stadium.
In what has been scheduled in as a ‘Perth home game’ due to strict COVID rules in Western Australia, the Scorchers will be looking to repeat what it did on Wednesday night when defeating the Renegades by 21 runs.
Mitch Marsh went mental with the willow again after smashing his way to 86 off 53 balls to help the Scorchers on their way to what was eventually an unassailable 207-run target.
Perth’s unblemished record moved to 5-0 after that result and there is no reason why is cannot become 6-0 as they charge towards BBL Championship favouritism.
Suggested Bets:
Perth Scorchers head to head at $1.45
Mitch Marsh best Scorchers batsman at $3.10
