Cranbourne Harness Tips & Previews, Saturday 18th December

It's off to Cranbourne Harness Racing Club we go for the best bets ahead of the $25,000 Group 3 Cranbourne Trotters Cup.

Cranbourne Harness Racing Club takes control of Saturday night harness racing in Victoria with the running of the $75,000 Group Two Cranbourne Pacing Cup.

Our analysts find all the value and best bets you need to be on come the first race all the way through to the last.

cranbourne race 1

#2 missucci

The Emma Stewart-trained Missucci has not had much luck of late, but seems to be going along quite well and has the talent levels to win this race.

The four-year-old mare completely broke stride at Stawell when drawing the marker pegs and never looked comfortable at all.

That was succeeded by another unlucky run at Ballarat where she was posted wide throughout the run and had little energy left at the end of the race.

Being drawn one off the pegs should set up well for her here, she can get the suck run behind leaders with being hemmed away on the pegs.

Racing on the six-day back up tells us she has pulled up well from her midfield effort at Stawell and is ready to fire.

Suggested Bet: Missucci win at $2.80

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 2 & 8

#1 Believe in forever

The eyes lit up when the $71 went up for Believe In Forever.

The six-year-old gelding has since been crunched into $12, but he actually still looks good value at double figures.

He has some sort of elevation at his most recent run compared to what he had been doing prior and should enjoy getting the bludge run from the marker poles.

His best is definitely capable of winning this race and we can back him each-way just in case he is not able to hold out odds-on pop Im Shadow Boxer.

Suggested Bet: Believe In Forever each-way at $12 the win and $2.05 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 8

cranbourne race 6

#6 aldebaran tess

Aldebaran Tess looks much better value in this race than current odds-on favourite Majestic Man who has to deal with a tough draw.

Yes, the favourite deserves his tag, but not at the current quote and opens up the opportunity to back the Matty Craven-trained four-year-old mare.

She did not have much go her way when running second last start in the Group Three Freestone Trots nor did she have any luck the start prior.

She is a mare who clearly has the engine to take it up to the favourite with some even luck from gate six.

Tipping Sofia Arvidsson will chance her arm when the arms fold back and try to take a front-running role with this mare to get an early advantage over the favourite.

Suggested Bet: Aldebarran Tess win at $4.6

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – Field/ 9/ Field

cranbourne race 7

#2 bettor be the bomb

We have an odds-on favourite coming over from New Zealand and handful of horses in single figures that are having a longer than ideal break in between runs.

The fit horse who has been racing well is Bettor Be The Bomb.

He races here off a six-day break after being chewed up and spat out in the Group 3 Stawell Pacing Cup over 2600 metres last start.

He was heavily inconvenienced during the run and it ended his chances, but he can improve here having drawn a soft gate near the marker pegs.

Big driver change with champion pilot Chris Alford taking the reins, which should attract some market support.

Suggested Bet: Bettor Be The Bomb each-way at $16 the win and $3.4 the place.
