Melbourne stars vs. sydney thunder
december 10th 7:15pm
Melbourne Stars attempt to rectify a disastrous start to its season when it faces the Sydney Thunder at the MCG on Friday night.
The Stars were simply horrendous in their 152-run loss against BBL champions the Sixers after being bowled out for 61.
Sydney Thunder, meanwhile, made very light work of the 141-run target it needed for victory against Brisbane Heat as Alex Ross and Sam Billings led the way with the bat.
Back to the Stars, that first game surely has to be a complete anomaly on what they are going to produce this season.
Their record against the Thunder is quite strong in recent fixtures having won four out of the last five games between the two teams.
The batting attack for the Stars will really need to lift, though, against the likes of Gurinder Sandhu, who returned to the Thunder in fine style taking two for 17 off his four overs against the Heat.
Suggested Bets:
Same Game Multi
Leg 1: G Maxwell 10+ runs
Leg 2: M Stoinis 10+ runs
Leg 3: G. Sandhu to take a wicket
Leg 4: G Maxwell to hit a six
Combined odds = $3.60
sydney sixers vs. hobart hurricanes
december 11th 6:35pm
The Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes play for the second time in as many games this week.
It was the Sixers who proved victorious on Wednesday night with a 14-run triumph over the Hurricanes who proved tough to beat.
The Sixers just had a little bit more polish with the bat and ball towards the pointy end of each innings with proved the difference.
Moises Henriques was named player of the match after his swashbuckling 73-run effort off only 48 deliveries, while Tom Curran showed us all why is he one of the best bowlers in the BBL after a three-wicket haul.
It is tough to see the Hurricanes reversing this result given the Sixers play on their home deck at the SCG.
Expect Josh Phillipe to have a chip on his shoulder when he comes out to bat after a being removed cheaply on Wednesday.
Suggested Bets:
Sydney Sixers head to head at $1.65
J. Phillipe top batsman for Sydney Sixers at $3.5
perth scorchers vs. adelaide strikers
december 11th 9:30pm
The Perth Scorchers will look to continue their winning start to the season when they face the Adelaide Strikers on Sunday night at Optus Stadium.
The Scorchers held on for dear life against a resurgent Brisbane Heat outfit to win by six runs after bowling them out for 151 runs.
Usually known for its big-hitting batsmen, the Scorchers showed how good of a bowling attack it can be this summer with Matthew Kelly taking career-best BBL figures of four for 28.
The batting line-up still looks fairly solid and it was big tick to see Colin Munro get out cheaply, but the Scorchers still finding enough in the locker to pose a winning score with the bat.
Adelaide will be looking to thwart the likes of Munro and Cameron Bancroft with their ever-dangerous bowling attack consisting of Peter Siddle, Rashid Khan and Wes Agar.
The Strikers were on song in their bounce-back victory over the Renegades after losing the season-opener to last year’s wooden spooners.
Perth on its home deck is always going to be hard to overcome this season and with plenty of scope for improvement in its batting order, it might just have the edge over the travelling Strikers.
Suggested Bets:
Perth Scorchers head to head at $1.62
C. Munro top batsman for Perth Scorchers at $3.80
P. Siddle top bowler for Adelaide Strikers at $4.35
