A double-header worth of Wednesday fixtures greet us for BBL.

The Hobart Hurricanes get their season started against reigning champions Sydney Sixers, while Perth gets the ball rolling on its season with a clash against Brisbane.

Our cricket analysts dive into the best bets you need to be on come the first ball.

hobart hurricanes vs. sydney sixers

december 8th 6:35pm

Sydney Sixers will seek to continue their super impressive start to BBL 11 when they face a Hobart Hurricanes team ready to begin its season with its first game.

The Hurricanes will have the advantage of a home crowd at University of Tasmania Stadium, but the Sixers have the confidence of an enormous win over Melbourne Stars.

The reigning BBL champions battered and bruised the Stars in a performance of brute strength with the willow and slick wicket-taking with the ball.

Josh Phillipe’s 83-run performance has showed he will again be force in the competition this season and the Hurricanes bowling will need to be on the money if they are any chance of toppling him cheaply.

Even if fast bowlers Scott Boland and Riley Meredith can get on top early, Moises Henriques and Dan Christian will always pose a serious threat.

The Hurricanes will be far more of a test for the Sixers, but it is hard to be against Sydney at the moment.

Suggested Bets:
Sydney Sixers head to head at $1.64
Josh Phillipe top Sixers batsman at $3.5

perth scorchers v brisbane heat

december 8th 9:35pm

Perth Scorchers get their season underway when they welcome the Brisbane Heat to Optus Stadium.

We know we are going to get a blinding light show and blaring music for entertainment, but make no mistakes about it, the cricket is going to do the talking in this one.

Both teams present to this match with some vicious options in their respective batting orders.

Despite Chris Lynn going cheaply in the Heat’s season opening loss to Sydney Thunder, he is capable of firing the ball into all parts of the ground.

He will be the Heat’s barometer as he always is.

The Scorchers do seem to have a fair bit of depth in their batting department.

Retaining gun left-hand opener Colin Munro was a massive coup for Perth and his run-scoring ability will be pivotal in this game and the season.

Scorchers should be able to get the job done on home turf.

Suggested Bets:
Perth Scorchers head to head at $1.60
C. Munro top batsman for Perth at $4.5
C. Lynn top batsman for Brisbane at $3.2
