BBL 11 is here!
It’s time to go through all the best bets ahead of a big set of fixtures to get us underway for another season of swashbuckling T20 entertainment.
sydney sixers vs. melbourne stars
december 5th 7:35pm
Reigning BBL champions, the Sydney Sixers, begin their trophy defence with a mouth-watering contest against Melbourne Stars on Sunday night.
The Sixers made it back-to-back BBL championships last season and look just as strong heading into BBL 11 as they have in the last two seasons.
The Stars, meanwhile, are looking to finally deliver some sort of silverware to their so far empty trophy cabinet having fallen short on numerous occasions despite having talented squads over the years.
Stars captain Glenn Maxwell is likely to line-up for his squad after a successful T20 World Cup for Australia.
His batting and bowling form will dictate how close this game ends up being.
The Sixers do boast a very strong record against the Stars having won the last five matches in a row.
Melbourne has the talent to win this, but it’s always tough to tip against the Sixers at the SCG.
Suggested Bet: Sydney Sixers head to head at $1.81
Sydney Thunder v brisbane heat
december 6th 7:15pm
Two teams who will be looking to significantly elevate on their performances last season meet when Sydney Thunder hosts Brisbane Heat at Manuka Oval on Monday night.
The batting line-up of both squads has some serious ability with big hitter Chris Lynn captaining the Heat and Alex Hales leading the batting order of the Thunder.
It is a match that might very well come down to the bowling and who can mitigate the damage done by the opposition batting order.
The signing of Gurinder Sandhu for the Thunder is a massive coup.
Sandhu’s ability with the white ball is second-to-none in the BBL and his influence should be felt on this contest.
Suggested Bet: Sydney Thunder head to head at $1.83
Melbourne Renegades vs. Adelaide Strikers
december 7th 7:15pm
A big rebuild is on the horizon for the Melbourne Renegades when they start a new lease of life in the BBL against Adelaide Strikers at Marvel Stadium.
The Renegades have a new coach in David Saker and acquired the services of Nic Maddison, who has immediately been appointed captain.
New signing Unmukt Chand will also provide the Renegades with some much needed stability in the batting order.
Saker is going to have to find a way for his squad to deal with the gun bowling attack of the Strikers.
Peter Siddle and Rashid Khan will plan to cause all sorts of havoc with the ball.
If Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh can set the tone with the bat and actually stick together at the crease, the Renegades might just start the season off on a positive note.
Suggested Bet: Melbourne Renegades head to head at $2.12
