Sandown Park Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 7th October

Tips and previews from the big Thursday night card at Sandown Park.

Sandown Park takes centre stage for Thursday night greyhound racing.

The best bets ahead of a big 12-race card.

Sandown Park Race 3

#2 Caroline

From box two, Caroline can zip across to the rail, find the front and be too good for this field.

She returns to the scene of the crime of her latest victory which gives us confidence in this race.

That win was two starts ago when dashing home over the Sandown 515 metres to win by just over three lengths in a time of 29.33.

She has shown good early speed in her last few starts which is the sign of dog who is enjoying her racing and we can trust her to jump quickly and take luck out of the equation early.

Deserved favourite and the one to be with in this race.

Suggested Bet: Caroline win at $3.3

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 3, 6

Sandown park race 4

#2 Kenny The Brute

Kenny The Brute drops sharply in grade here in an attempt to get him back to winning form.

His last two starts have seen him well beaten by freak chaser Five Star who is arguably in career best form at the moment.

The most recent start behind Five Star was a seven-length defeat when being sent out at $10 elect.

He started the shortest of the handful of dogs who come out of race that race and are entered here.

Gets a nice set up here from box two, which should allow him to find the front or settle in the first early in the race.

Very surprised to see him second elect in the market and he is worthy of a ticket at the current price of $2.70.

Suggested Bet: Kenny The Brute win at $2.70

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 2/ 8/ 4, 5

Sandown Park Race 5

#5 Abelero Bale

Abelero Bale has been racing much better than his form suggests at the moment.

He is armed with a very fast finish and will need a little bit of luck from box five.

The race might actually fall his way as there does not look to be too much early speed and he may fall into on-pace position.

If he can find a spot close to the speed and get the tail of It’s My Party, who draws his immediate outside and will likely cross, then he can win this race.

Cannot knock him at this price and he is a good each-way bet.

Suggested Bet: Abelero Bale each-way at $10 the win and $2.3 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 5

Sandown Park Race 6

#7 Zipping Rambo

Backing in Zipping Rambo to defeat star chaser Koblenz.

Despite Koblenz being in scintillating winning form, Zipping Rambo showed his brilliance with a breathtaking 24.99 win at Ballarat victory when leading all all the way to win by nearly six lengths.

He draws box seven and with the long run to the first bend he can balance up, cross the favourite and find the front.

His record in the black rug reads two wins from three starts, so he clearly has a liking to being drawn out wide on the track and he showed that in his clock-busting win at Ballarat last week.

Suggested Bet: Zipping Rambo win at $5

Sandown Park Race 9

#1 Nihari Bale

Nihari Bale showed great early speed for the first time in the last month-and-a-half of racing to nearly pinch a Grade 5 race over Lakeview Cruiser a week ago.

Trainer Mark Delbridge might have just figured out what to do in order to get his dog to jump cleanly and find the lead.

It looks a race that lacks any genuine fast beginning and if he can replicate the early acceleration he showed last week then the lead and this race is his for the taking.

Drawing box one and showing that speed will see him conserve just that little bit more energy by taking the shortest way home, rather than having to scout wide like he did last start when just being nabbed on the line.

Suggested Bet: Nihari Bale win at $3.1

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 4, 6
