The best bets as we head into the second week of the US Open.
There are a few upsets that are brewing on the men’s side of the draw, while the two favourites being knocked out of the women’s draw has thrown things up in the air.
Alex Zverev vs. Jannik SInner
September 7th 2:00am
Talented duo Alex Zverev and Jannik Sinner are set to trade rally for rally in the US Open Round of 16.
Sinner scored a momentous five-set victory over French veteran Gael Monfils to progress through, while Zverev had an easier time of it as he scored a walkover win against American hope Jack Sock.
The German number four seed has looked strong in his first three rounds, but he will find this match a tough assignment having played Sinner twice a splitting the spoils at one win a piece.
Zverev does have the form on the hardcourt having defeated his Italian opponent in straight sets in Cologne last year.
The fresher legs of Zverev might just be what proves the difference in this clash
Suggested Bets:
Alex Zverev 3-1 at $2.75
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. Carlos Alcaraz
September 8th 2:00am
The man being dubbed ‘the right handed Rafael Nadal’ continues his surge towards US Open glory when he faces Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Carlos Alcarez is the newest Spanish sensation to launch into stardom after following up his upset victory over fifth Stefanos Tsitsipas with a an epic five-set win against over Peter Gojowczyk.
Aurger-Alisassime has also proven a threat at this US Open after disposing of local hope Frances Tiafoe in four sets on Monday.
The two youngsters are yet to play each other with the only real guide on their form being the hardcourt form both have shown this season.
Alcaraz boasts the slightly better win percentage on the hardcourt having won 15 of his 21 matches on the surface, while Auger-Aliassime has managed 18 wins from 26 matches.
Outside of the obvious favourites to win the tournament, this is going to be one of, if not, the most highly anticipated match in the Round of 16.
Siding with the slightly more experienced Canadian who is set to crack into the top 10 ATP rankings.
Suggested Bet:
Felix Auger-Aliassime head to head at $1.46
Total games over 37.5 at $1.84
Belinda Bencic vs. Iga Swiatek
September 7th 1:00am
Olympic gold medallist Belinda Bencic comes face to face with the Polish tennis queen Iga Swiatek on Tuesday morning in the Round of 16.
The question mark of the Swiatek’s hardcourt form has been well and truly put to rest with three dazzling performances to get her to this clash against Swiss ace Bencic.
The number 11 seed has answered some critics of her own this year as well as she follows up her success in Tokyo with a big run towards the pointy end of this US Open.
Swiatek and Bencic have met each other once before and that was back in February this year at the Adelaide International with the 20-year-old Pole proving the winner thanks to a 6-2, 6-2 result in her favour in Adelaide earlier this year.
We get similar conditions here as we did in that game with the fast hardcourts of Flushing Meadows likely to advantage Swiatek.
Suggested Bet:
Iga Swiatek head to head at $1.72
Shelby Rogers vs. Emma Raducanu
September 7th 4:00am
Shelby Rogers might be public enemy number in Australia after causing a massive boil over to defeat our golden girl Ash Barty.
The 28-year-old American now faces unseeded British prospect Emma Radacanu in the Round of 16.
Radacanu is yet to drop a set in the tournament and produced a 6-0, 6-1 thrashing of Sara Sorribes Tormo in her most dominant display of the tournament thus far.
The 18-year-old 150th ranked WTA player has clearly proven herself a worthy competitor in only her second grand slam tournament ever.
She has equalled her feats of Wimbledon by progressing to the fourth round, but the form of Rogers against Barty was that of a player who can go all the way.
Rogers will have the crowd spurring her on in this one.
Suggested Bet:
Shelby Rogers head to head at $2.21
