Harness Racing Tips & Previews, Saturday 28th August

The best bets for Saturday harness racing as we head to Bendigo for a massive meeting.

We head into a big weekend of harness racing with the best bets and preview for Saturday night action on the track.

Bendigo headlines the Saturday night card with plenty of value for the punters.

Bendigo Race 1

#3 Powderkeg

Powderkeg looks to get the right set up in this race with consideration to how he has been driver at his two runs back from a spell.

Lisa Miles has instructed and instilled this pacer to take the sit at each of his two starts this preparation and it has allowed him to rocket home late in his races.

He hit the line nicely last start when using the sprint lane to dart through over 1690 metres at Kilmore, but just found the race a little bit too sharp for him.

Perfect step up in distance here and he is drawn to get a trailing run again, but he will not be as far away as he has been at his most recent starts.

This looks a softer tempo, so he can use his sharp sprint late in the race.

Suggested Bet: Powderkeg win at $2.7

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 3 & 2

Kilmore Race 3

#6 Travel Bug

With Emma Stewart’s Cover of Darkness drawn awkwardly on the second row, we are siding with Travel Bug who gets a perfect recipe here.

There looks to be a little bit of a early speed in this event, but Travel Bug has the perfect sit in behind the lead speed from gate six.

James Herbertson will then have the option of peeling out and darting to the front in the mid-section to wrestle the lead off the front-runners.

He should have the map advantage over the favourite which is what makes him an attractive prospect in this race.

Suggested Bet: Travel Bug each-way at $7 the win and $2.3 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 6, 7, 8

Bendigo Race 6

#4 Aldebaran Tess

Aldebaran Tess should find the top when the gates fold back.

She will find the front before her two main challengers in the form of Im Ready Jet and Keayang Livana attempt to strike the front-running positions from the second row.

There does not look to be a huge amount of early pace in the race.

There is a likely outcome that Sofia Arviddson can ease this pacer and not spend too many petrol tickets when her threats lay down the law mid-race.

This mare is in impeccable form being undefeated since resuming from a spell and looks the best of the night.

Suggested Bet: Aldebaran Tess win at $3.4

Bendigo Race 9

#1 Torrid saint

This race just falls in the lap of Torrid Saint who is drawn ideally on the market pegs from the front row.

Glenn Douglas should set out to make Triple Eight and Out To Play work from the beginning and then take a trail in behind them.

He dropped back to 1690 meters last start and was held up for a run just as he was about to get clear air.

He rises to 2150 metres and that should suit him perfectly.

Happy to be with him tonight with the advantage of the sprint lane in the home straight.

Suggested Bet: Torrid Saint win at 3.9

Bendigo Race 11

#6 Always Fast

Always Fast can turn the tables on Sirlectic from their last start stoush at Ballarat.

It turned into a massacre in favour of Sirlectic as he bolted in by 10 metres, but Always Fast has a few things against that night.

Always Fast has a massive starting price advantage over Sirlectic from last start with our selection starting a $1.90 favourite, while Sirlectic began a $6 elect int the market.

This looks to be a much more favourable set up for Always Fast tonight.

David Moran can score up from the wide gate and attempt to keep his main rival in the death as he finds the top.

Predicting these two favourites will clear out the rest of the field, but Always Fast to bounce back in a two-horse war.

Suggested Bet: Always Fast win at $2.4

Suggested Exotic: Exacta – 6 & 7
