Harness Racing Tips

Saturday Harness Racing, Melton Tips and Previews, 29th May

The best bets for Saturday harness racing as we head to Melton and Menangle for a big night of pacing.

Another big night of harness racing is upon us from Melton with a huge card full of Group 1 action.

The Gold Bullion Finals and The Pacing Gold Finals are all set to run and won.

One of the best bets comes up in the first at Melton as we syphon through the program in an attempt to find a heap of winners!

Melton Race 1

#11 Iconic Major

Iconic Major has produced three sensational efforts at his last three runs with the most recent being a brilliant 1:53:50 mile rate win.

That victory was over this course and distance despite settling back in the field.

His sustained turn of speed was on display for all to see and given there is plenty of speed engaged in the front row for this race, expect him to be storming home late down the outside.

The race looks to set up perfectly for him.

A repeat of his last start will see him almost unbeatable.

Suggested Bet: Iconic Major win at $3.2

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 11/ 1, 5/ 1, 8, 5

Melton Race 2

#2 Cyclone S Adams

Cyclone S Adams put in a brave performance when resuming from a 70-day break last start.

After enjoying a nice run in transit over the 2240 metres of Melton, he darted back to the sprint lane and plugged away nicely for second behind Justamollyarcher.

He will surely derive great benefit from that run and looks to land himself in the perfect spot just behind what looks to be a solid lead speed.

Comes up good each-way odds in this race and it’s hard to see him missing a place.

Suggested Bet: Cyclone S Adams each-way at $10 the win and $2.7 the place.

Melton Race 6

#2 Fiamma

Fiamma has drawn the perfect gate to get the trail on her more fancied stablemate Playing Up.

Her trainer Emma Stewart has an absolute stranglehold on this race with four entrants but Fiamma is the one who gets the ideal set-up.

Playing Up will lead and Fiamma will follow her everywhere she goes.

There does not look to be too much pressure on up front either but if there is, Fiamma will be there to be pounce either way.

She raced a little ungenerously last start when pulling hard in the run but that is just the sign of a young horse who wants to race.

Entrusting Stewart to have ironed out those issues leading into this race.

Suggested Bet: Fiamma win at $3.6

Melton race 8

#2 ACt Now

Act Now is the one to be with here.

He has very good tactical speed when the arms break and has the ability to sustain that for a long way.

Even though there looks to be a bit of speed engaged early in this event, Act Now should be able to find the front comfortably.

His effort at Kilmore a week ago should see him cherry ripe for this race given the high pressure nature expected in this race.

Suggested Bet: Act Now win at $3.9
