The Wizard of Odds is against a $1.26 favourite in Race 6 at Kyneton!
Best bets for the country Monday meeting are in the Wizard has dug deep to find some good value at this competitive Kyneton meeting.
Kyneton Race 2
#4 King Dick
King Dick improved out of sight at his second career run when finishing runner-up behind the very heavily backed Mckeever at Bendigo over 1100 metres
It was much better effort than his six-and-a-half length defeat on debut and now the step up to 1200 metres and the wide gate actually sets up nicely for him.
Given he was racing against fairly sharp horses last start, from the wide barrier, expect him to settle much closer to the speed and he may even potentially lead.
He is fit, up and running, and ready to break maiden status.
Just need Harry Coffey to be aggressive and positive from the barrier.
Suggested Bet: King Dick win at $3.4
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 3, 11
Kyneton Race 3
#6 Yowza
Little known trainer Glen Cross looks to have a horse he and his owners are going to have some fun with on the country circuit after a positive debut run.
Did a nice job to finish third at Moe over 1200 metres despite starting $51.
He held his spot nicely enough to the line after the winner and runner-up had a deadset picnic in the lead.
Should improve from a fitness perspective after that effort and the big tick here is that he will make his own luck by racing up on the pace.
That is always a massive positive on these tight-turning country tracks.
Each-way all day.
Suggested Bet: Yowza each-way at $8.5 the win and $2 the place
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 5, 6/ 5, 6, 10/ 5, 6, 10
Kyneton Race 6
#9 Cyclone Sally
The Wizard of Odds has garnered up all wisdom in attempt to get the $1.26 favourite beaten in this one.
Cyclone Sally is the mare to beat Saint of Katowice.
This four-year-old by Puissance De Lune clearly thrives on wet tracks and she gets the sting out of the ground in this race.
Nick Harnett has a habit of training wet track horses and this mare is no exception having won two starts and placing once on four attempts atop of the soft going.
The favourite’s only attempt at a soft track was back on January 1 this year and he was beaten out of sight.
Let’s cheer home the upset!
Suggested bet: Cyclone Sally win at $4.2
Suggested Exotic – Exacta 9 & 3
Kyneton Race 7
#4 Invincible Lotus
Hoping Invincible Lotus lives up to her namesake today proves to be invincible!
Pops up here under the tutelage of Shane Nichols who acquired this now four-year-old mare from the Mick Price stable and she comes into this race off some solid jump out and trial form.
Her first-up record reads very solid with three resuming runs resulting in two wins.
She won her first-up run last preparation on a bog heavy track over the 1000 metres at Bendigo and if she can replicate a similar run over the 1100 metres it’s tough to see her missing a place.
From barrier four, Jake Noonan should give her an easy time of it and save her turn of foot for when it counts.
Suggested bet: Invincible Lotus each-way at $6.5 the win and $2.35 the place
