Champions League Quarter Finals Preview & Bets, 14th April

The best bets in the quarter final deciders as Liverpool host Real Madrid and Dortmund clash with City.

Another huge set of quarterfinal second legs are upon us when Liverpool do battle against Real Madrid, while Manchester City take on Borussia Dortmund.

Best bets are in and it’s time to strike and score some cash into our pockets.

Borussia Dortmund vs. Manchester City

April 14th 5:00am

It’s do or die for both Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City tomorrow morning in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie.

City take a 2-1 advantage to Westfalenstadion after a Phil Foden injury time winner in the first leg at the Etihad.

Dortmund looked poised to be in the box seat heading home when Marco Reus struck an equaliser in the 84th minute, but Foden bobbed at the most desperate of times to ensure Dortmund had to play catch up at home.

Edin Terzic would have been pleased by what he saw at the Etihad and that crucial away goal may prove pivotal in the outcome tomorrow morning.

City, as it so usually does, dominated possession in the first leg, but the Dortmund defence comprised of German veteran Mat Hummels and Manuel Akanji stood tall for as long as possible.

History says Dortmund have the upper hand here.

These teams have met at this venue once before with Dortmund victorious following a 1-0 win.

Erling Haaland will want to continue his goal-scoring run after being well held by the City defence in the first leg.

This game has his name written all over it if Dortmund’s midfield can get on top and provide him with the silver service.

This is set for one the best games this Champions League season has to offer.

Prediction: Dortmund 1 City 1

Suggested Bet: Draw at $4.15

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: E. Haaland to score anytime
Leg 2: Both teams to score
Combined odds = $2.4

Liverpool vs. Real Madrid

April 15th 5:00am

Liverpool will need another comeback miracle to overcome a 3-1 deficit when it hosts Real Madrid at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp and his men do not have to wind the tape back too far as it was back in their Champions League winning season of 2018-19 when it came from 3-0 down against Barcelona in the first leg to win 4-0 at Anfield at progress to the final.

But this season has been a year for injuries and inconsistent form.

Real Madrid took full advantage of a lacklustre Liverpool to take a commanding position into the final leg.

A Vinicius Junior double and a Marco Asensio strike ensured victory for Real Madrid at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano last week.

Liverpool do have a horrendous record at home this season but finally broke through for its first win at Anfield since December 16th 2020 with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League.

While it is fraught with danger to write off a team like Liverpool to achieve what looks the impossible, Madrid continue to go from strength to strength this season.

A 2-1 win over Barcelona in La Liga on Sunday extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 13 games.

Expecting that run to continue tomorrow morning as they vie for an unprecedented 14 Champions League crown.

Prediction: Liverpool 1 Real Madrid 2

Suggested Bet: Real Madrid head to head $3.40

Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Real Madrid head to head
Leg 2: K. Benzema to score anytime

Combined odds = $4.75
