NBA Tips and Previews, Thursday 8th April

Tips, Previews and all you need ahead of Thursday's NBA action

Three out of four again!

The BetDeluxe best bets continued to fly along on Wednesday and if not for Giannis Antetokounmpo being a late withdrawal for Milwaukee it may have very well been four from four.

Nevertheless, the best bets for Thursday are in as the team looks to strike while the iron is hot.

MInnesota @ indiana

April 9th 9:00am

Minnesota head over to the Bankers Life Fieldhouse to face the Indiana Pacers on Thursday morning for a Western Conference versus Eastern Conference clash.

The Timberwolves scored an upset 116-106 win over Sacramento on Monday, while the Pacers succumbed to a disappointing 113-97 defeat against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.

This one is going to be a challenge for both teams when you get right down to it.

Minnesota is fronting up for its fourth game in only six nights and in its fourth different city.

Indiana plays the second game of a back-to-back here and they are dealing with some question marks as to the health of some of their key personnel.

Having said that, the Timberwolves are just 5-21 on the road this season and even the return of D’Angelo Russell does not mitigate the fact that they have been terrible all season.

Indiana knows it needs nothing but victories in order to help its playoff positioning at this stage of the season.

Beating teams that are well below them in the standings is a key way to make that happen.

If the Pacers are fair dinkum they should get the upper hand here and coast away to victory.

Suggested Bet: Indiana head to head at $1.74

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Indiana head to head
Leg 2: Total points scored under 232.5
Combined odds = $3.10

Washington @ Orlando

April 8th 9:00am

The Washington Wizards will head to the Amway Center on Wednesday night for an Eastern Conference battle versus the tanking Orlando Magic.

This matchup could be a race to the bottom between a pair of teams with no interest in making a late-season run. The Magic continued their landslide down the Eastern Conference standings after falling to 17-33 on the yea

The Magic are bereft of talent, which is going to make it tough for them to win, however, head coach Steve Clifford has his roster competing well at the moment.

Meanwhile, Washington seems content with focusing on the draft for next season and may have the motivation of looking towards improving its chance at a high draft pick.

Bradley Beal has missed five consecutive games with a bruised right hip and there is no sign that he will be back for this fixture against the Magic.

Siding with Orlando to cover the point spread in this battle between Eastern Conference cellar dwellers.

Suggested Bet: Orlando Magic to cover the +2.5 point spread at $1.92

New York @ Boston

April 8th 9:30am

The New York Knicks will travel to the TD Garden for an Eastern Conference battle versus the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.

The Knicks and Celtics come into Thursday’s fixture tied for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 25-26 overall win-loss record.

Both teams sit just one game back from the Miami Heat for the coveted sixth spot in the Eastern Conference.

If the season were to end today, New York and Boston would have to battle it out in the play-in game for a chance to remain in the postseason.

With the Celtics fresh off of a disappointing double-figure defeat, it’s hard not to like their chances of bouncing back at home.

The Celtics can catapult the Knicks in the standings with a win and move one step closer to avoiding a play-in game in the East.

The Knicks come into this game having dropped four of five with its lone victory during that period coming against the lowly ranked Detroit Pistons.

Suggested Bet: Boston Celtics to cover the -2.5 point spread at $1.92

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Boston to cover the -2.5 point spread
Leg 2: Total points scored over 208.5
Combined odds = $3.50

New Orleans @ Brooklyn

April 8th 9:30am

The Brooklyn Nets host the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday for the first meeting between these teams this season.

The Pelicans are looking to rebound after a 123-107 loss to the Hawks in Atlanta, while The Nets comes into this fixture after a surviving a scare against the Knicks to notch up another with 114-112 triumph over the less-fancied New York Knicks.

Kyrie Irving dropped 40 points in the win and will likely be joined by Kevin Durant who has recovered from a back from a hamstring injury.

The Pelicans are shorthanded as Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Josh Hart are out in the backcourt while second-leading scorer Brandon Ingram is in some doubt.

Zion Williamson will probably need to have a career-best night if the Pelicans are able to overcome not only this talented Nets squad but the fatigue which will set in the second leg of back-to-back nights.

Brooklyn should do this with a leg in the air.

Suggested Bet: Brooklyn Nets to cover the -9.5 point spread at $1.96
