An impressive six-and-half metre winner of the Terang Pacing Cup last start, Wolf Stride travels up to Menangle for a hit and run mission in this Group 1 sprint.
Prior to his win last start, he had been running well behind Lochinvar Art who is arguably the best pacer in Australia at this point in time.
He draws a nice gate here as well and his main rivals, who are all drawn inside of him, are likely to kick up and attempt to hold him out.
Even if that does occur, he has the tactical versatility to take his medicine and set in behind the speed without overdoing it or racing ungenerously.
At $4.4 he is worth a ticket.

Menangle race 4
#2 king of swing
King Of Swing comes up a very short-priced favourite in this race and rightfully so.
His run behind Lochinvar Art last start was full of merit.
After racing wide in the early and middle stages of the race he was still brave enough to keep on fighting and would eventually cling on to finish in the placings and run third beaten 9.5 metres by the winner.
He’s now drawn a gate on the mobile where he can amble across to the marker pegs at his own leisure and boot clear when he needs to.
There is no value in backing him on the nose here, but the two horses that are worth throwing into the exotics and multiples are Out Of Play, who ran fifth behind Lochinvar Art last start in the same race as King of Swing, and Western Sonador who brings Newcastle Group 1 form to this race.

MENANGLE RACE 6
#7 BETTER ENFORCE
We got this eight-year-old mare beaten last start when backing Maajida to get the chocolates over her, but, at the price, we have to side with her.
She started an odds-on favourite at this track and distance in the Group 2 Robin Dundee Stakes and she seems to get a much more favourable set up here.
They went berserk up front early in her last start here and she had to do a bit of work around the back straight and sit in the death without cover before eventually being crossed and settling in the one-one.
Tonight, she is on the seven-day turnaround after her last run which came a fortnight between runs and the smaller gap between runs suggested she’s pulled up well and that should be enough to spark her back into winning form.

Anntonia had a torrid time in the Oaks heat last start when she was posted deep and then had to press on to sit outside the lead of what was a solid speed
She fought on bravely up the straight but was unable to reel in the leader, and eventual winner, Beach Music who also goes around in this race.
That run would have brought her on perfectly for this and now she’s drawn gate one which is ideal for her.
There looks to be a fair bit of early speed engaged in this race but having drawn gate one, she might actually show some dash to hold the inside from Beach Music.
While the favourite, Tough Tilly, will be the one they all have to hold out, she is drawn very awkwardly in gate 10 and her price is no luxury either.
