The BetDeluxe Greyhound Preview was on fire on Saturday night finding Houdini Boy and Wow at The Meadows.
Greyhound racing returns to Sandown Park on Thursday night with a 12-race card that has some dogs representing great betting propositions on the card.
A $3.70 second-favourite in Race 4 looks to be where the value lies on this card.
Sandown Park Race 4
#2 kenny the brute
Kenny The Brute has drawn a perfect box here.
He is two wins from two starts coming out of box two and started a $2.80 favourite at this track and distance last start when he drew the less than ideal box six.
Now he draws alongside his main rival Dark Arrow who subsequently beat him home the Sandown 595m last start.
Dark Arrow did start at a longer price than Kenny The Brute in that race and had everything in his favour.
Kenny The Brute should be able to get on the tail of Dark Arrow and put in a race-winning mid-race move to come away with the victory.
Suggested Bet: Kenny The Brute win at $3.70
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 2/ 1/ 3, 5, 6, 7
sandown park race 6
#8 HE SHALL RODGER
This two-year-old dog out of the David Crawford kennell possesses a fast, sharp finish to his races and is drawn out in box eight where he can show his best.
He won his only start from box eight and if he can get some clean air here with an unimpeded run he can swarm home over the top of them late.
The clear danger is Gypsy Bun who posted a solid 30.03 win at the Meadows two starts back and she looks well placed in this Mixed 4/5 grade race.
Think we can get a good run for our money with the He Shall Rodger and he looks a nice each-way proposition.
Suggested Bet: He Shall Rodger each way at $8.5 the win and $2.30 the place
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 2, 8/ 2, 5, 8/ 2, 5, 6, 7, 8
Sandown Race 7
#4 PARTY LIGHTS
Party Lights just needs an inkling of luck to go his way from box four and he will be right in the finish.
He has a fast beginner drawn inside him in box three called Zipping Ticket, who should be able to clear out early and carve a path for Party Lights to follow into the race.
With a personal best of 33.98 over this track and distance, if Party Lights can run anywhere near that time, he will be winning this by a space.
Suggested Bet: Party Lights win at $4.4
Suggested Exotic: Quinella – 3 & 4
Sandown Race 9
#4 INVICTUS JAXON
This two-year-old dog has a serious motor when he jumps cleanly and finds the front like he did last start.
He ran a slashing 29.62 over the 515 at Sandown last Thursday to get back into the winners list and with a bit of luck from box four he can beat the favourite Zipping Rambo who will be flashing home late.
The only caveat on Invictus Jaxson is the speed drawn inside of him with Smart as Jack (Box 1) and Why Not Opal (Box 2) looking a touch more sharp in the early stages of their races.
Despite that, it should represent an opportunity for the blue rug to get a clear run to the rails on the first bend and give him the chase to the leaders down if he does not step away as quickly as the dogs drawn inside.
Suggested Bet: Invictus Jaxson win at $4.2
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 4/ 1, 4, 8/ 1, 2, 4, 8
sandown park race 11
#1 aston toto
Most people would probably look twice or even three times if you got told to back against the favourite here but Aston Toto is the dog that can knock off Thursday Knight.
He drew box six last start against gun dog Gotham Duke and was brave when clinging on for second albeit being beaten a fair way.
Tonight he’s drawn box one and if he can muster through and hold the rails early he’s going to be very hard to run down given his fitness as well as his experience at Sandown over 515 metres.
His last start would have brought him beautifully for this and he is a big threat to knock off the odds-on pop who will jump from the squeeze box.
Suggested Bet: Aston Toto win at $4
Suggested Exotic: Exacta – 4/ 1
