BBL Challenger Final Tips and Preview, Thursday 4th February

The Perth Scorchers are on the verge of making another BBL Grand Final but have to get through a resurgent Brisbane Heat in the BBL Challenger tonight from Manuka Oval.

The Perth Scorchers are on the verge of making another BBL Grand Final but have to get through a resurgent Brisbane Heat in the BBL Challenger tonight from Manuka Oval in Canberra.

The winner of this clash will face the Sydney Sixers – who have been the BBL 10 benchmark – in the final at the SCG.

HEAD TO HEAD

The last time these two met was on Australia Day and it was the Heat who prevailed by six runs as the Scorchers failed to chase down the 181-run target.

All the big hitters were on song that day.

T20 specialist and Heat captain Chris Lynn smashed 51 from 25 deliveries while Mitch Marsh toiled valiantly with the bat for the Scorchers scoring 54* off 26.

The Heat will be buoyed by that winning form as well as the all-round form of Marnus Labuschagne.

Labuschagne’s inclusion into the Heat squad after the Test Series against India has proved a masterstroke.

Another important factor is the market sided with the Scorchers when the teams met on the 26th of January.

Around about $1.60 was being bet about the three-time BBL champions, and given this event occurs on neutral ground, the Heat lose the home-ground advantage it had over the Scorchers.

Suggested Bet: Perth Scorchers head to head at $1.60

TOP BATSMAN

COLIN ROY & CHRIS LYNN

Both teams have star studded batting line ups.

Jason Roy is deep in the market to lead the batting for the Perth Scorchers and rightfully so, given the talent he has.

However, he has only averaged 22.5 runs in the two games he’s played against the Heat and comes up quite short at $3.8.

Colin Munro has been the pick of Perth Scorchers top order with an average of 33.92 throughout his 14 matches this season.

He boasts a high score of 82 against this Heat line-up and with the form he’s in he’s the clear top pick to head the charge for the Scorchers with the willow.

For the Heat, Chris Lynn has been the most prolific run-scorer with the bat in BBL 10 with an average of 36.33 which includes the second most sixes for the tournament with 25 maximums.

Marnus Labuschage is the second-elect in the market with his sole innings against the Scorchers being a well manufactured 46 in the win over the Scorchers a fortnight ago.

Suggested Bets:

  • Colin Roy top Perth Scorchers batsman at $4.15
  • Chris Lynn top Brisbane Heat batsman at $3.4

TOP BOWLER

JHYE RICHARDSON & MARNUS LABUSCHAGNE

Perth Scorchers strike bowler Jhye Richardson has been the pick of the BBL bowlers this summer in BBL 10.

The right arm fast has been in devastating form taking 27 wickets in 15 matches with an economy rate of 7.22.

Close behind him in the bowling ranks has been Brisbane Heat pace bowler Mark Steketee.

The leading Heat bowler is ranked second in the league having taken 24 wickets in his 15 matches but has been a bit costly with the ball going at an economy rate of 9.19 runs an over.

Marnus Labuschagne has been unbelievable with his quick fire leg-spinners.

Not only has he scored vital runs with the bat, he’s taken eight wickets with his crafty leg-spinners and he looks incredible value to lead the bowling market for the Heat in this match!

Suggested Bets:

  • Jhye Richardson top bowler for the match at $6.5
  • Marnus Labuschagne top bowler for the Brisbane Heat at $5
