Stradbroke Handicap 2025
The Stradbroke Handicap is Queensland’s most famous race – a Group 1 handicap over 1400 metres at Eagle Farm Racecourse. Run in June during the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival, it is the state’s premier sprint and one of the great betting races of the year.

About the Race
First run in 1890, the Stradbroke Handicap is the jewel of the Brisbane Winter Carnival. Traditionally run at 1400 metres under handicap conditions, it is a race that attracts both elite sprinters and tough milers.
Its honour roll includes champions such as Rough Habit, All Our Mob, Show A Heart, Thorn Park, Sincero, Black Piranha, and Trekking.
The Stradbroke is renowned for its huge fields, fast tempos, and long Eagle Farm straight – making it one of the fairest but toughest Group 1 handicaps in Australia.
