Greyhound Racing Tips

Saturday Greyhound Tips & Previews, 26th June

Tips and previews for Saturday night greyhound racing at The Meadows.

It would not be a Saturday night without greyhound racing from The Meadows.

Plenty of value to be found on the 12-race card as we look to warm up the souls with some winners on a cold winter night.

The Meadows Race 1

#2 Weblec Scorcher

A handful of winners and maidens in this race but have to side with a dog who has the win on the board.

Weblec Scorcher ran against Zambora Alani last start and beat her with ease over 525 metres at The Meadows last Wednesday.

It was a race run in the quickest winning time any other dog in this field has registered with his 30.22 being the benchmark.

He is open to more improvement here as well given it was his first run over the distance and expect him to be much stronger late in the race than he was 10 days ago.

Suggested Bet: Weblec Scorcher win at $3.3

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 2 & 3

The Meadows Race 3

#1 Blazer Glory

Blazer Glory has put together two impressive victories in a row and hits The Meadows for the first time having drawn an ideal box.

He showed sharp early speed in his start-to-finish win at Geelong over 460 metres and the rise in trip to 525 metres should be of no concern given his solid fitness base.

The only way we can see him being defeated in this race is if the four, who has early toe, crosses him and checks him.

But given the pace our selection showed last start, it is unlikely we will be crossed and that should mean we have an easy watch.

Jeff Britton does not bring dogs to The Meadows for no reason.

Best of the night.

Suggested Bet: Blazer Glory win at $2.4

The Meadows Race 5

#2 Carry On Angel

Carry On Angel may not have notched up a win in her last eight run but she gets the chance to atone in this race.

She was simply outgunned in a free for all affair last week by Jepara who is one of the most in-form dogs on the racing scene.

The drop back down to Grade 4/5 at The Meadows over 525 metres should see her go very close to winning here.

The fight she showed to keep at her task was that of a dog who continues to be in physical stature despite being beaten.

She boasts a sub-30 second run here which would blow this field away.

Expect a big bounce back into wining form.

Suggested Bet: Carry On Angel win at $3.9

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 3/ 1, 2, 3/ 1, 2, 3, 4

The Meadows Race 9

#1 Well Grounded

Well Grounded can easily knock off the favourite Weblec Blazer in this race.

He has run behind some very smart dogs in his most recent efforts with form behind Interrogate, Aston Rupee and Qwara Bale who would probably make mince meat of this field.

What stands out for Well Grounded here is the drop back in class to Grade 5.

His previous effort in this class was at this track over 525 metres, he started a $3.3 elect and just missed out on winning.

Does not look to be too much drawn to his outside and he should be able to probe through from the red rug to hold the lead throughout.

Suggested Bet: Well Grounded win at $3.4

The Meadows Race 10

#1 Green Blazer

Green Blazer is drawn to carve a path up near the rails early and ping away to win.

Thought his effort at The Meadows over the 525-metre circuit was full of merit given he drew awkwardly in box four.

The last time he drew box one was Geelong where he darted to the lead over 460 metres and did not look back.

He has a sharp 29.90 personal best here which he posted back in January this year.

Anything close to that time wins this with a leg in the air.

Suggested Bet: Green Blazer win at $2.5

The Meadows Race 11

#6 Chart Topper

Going with what looks to be the naught on the roulette here.

Chart Topper will not have raced for 35 days heading into this 525-metre event but given the price we are getting it is too hard not to be with her.

The way she powered to the finish post in her 29.94 win posted at The Meadows in Grade 3/4 class would be a major threat to the odds-on pop.

Slightly cautious about the gap between runs but we get a nice each-way price to see if she can repeat her winning antics.

Suggested Bet:Chart Topper each-way at $7 the win and $2.10 the place.
