Royal Randwick RACE 6

#2 Apocalyptic

Apocalyptic looks one of better bets on a tricky program. The Extreme Choice mare looks well placed in this grade, and her fresh form is near perfect. The form around her has stood up time and again, and I suspect she is in for a breakthrough spring campaign. A recent trial was sizzling, and she looks back to her best. Yes please!

Savvy Hallie can play a role with even luck in transit. The Hellbent mare isn’t short of any talent, and the flood of early money tells a story. She finds her ideal distance fresh, and the current track conditions suit to a tee. Recent trials have been rock-solid, and she meets the usual suspects. In the mix!

Suggested Bet: Apocalyptic @ $2.40

Royal Randwick Race 7

#4 By Choice

By Choice represents great each-way vaule. The Written By Filly never runs a bad race, and I suspect she will be cherry ripe for a first-up tilt. Her recent jump-outs have been first-class, and she will look the winner as they run cut the ribbons. Her opening quote has been more than nibbled at, and she looks well placed in this company. Over the odds!

Pembrey resumes after producing a rock-solid debut campaign. The Prague filly finds an easier grade on Saturday, and she looked fast recently at the jump-outs. The James McDonald factor is significant, and the Gollan camp are training winners for fun at present. Dismiss at your own peril.

Suggested Bet: By Choice @ $15.00

#8 Campione D'Italia

Campione D’Italia turned heads during the autumn. The Snitzel colt smashed the opposition in the Group 1 Sires Produce, and he was only narrowly beaten over the mile in the Champagne. The big boy has upside and progression for days, and I suspect the camp have him aimed at some lofty events during the spring. The event on Saturday looks challenging against the older horses; however, he could blow them away if he is fully wound up! Acid test!

Matcha Latte can spring an upset. The Maurice gelding is an experienced galloper, and the form around him has stood up time and again. He will be hitting the line late from a different suburb, and if the leaders go too hard early, he can nab them in the shadows. He tends to find one or two better at the pointy end of a contest

Suggested Bet: Camp D’Italia @ $4.00

Royal Randwick Race 9

#8 Autumn Glow

Autumn Glow resumes her brilliant racing career on Saturday. The Autumn Sun mare is world-class, with her only defeat coming at the hands of the freakish and proven Sir Delius. Her trials leading into this event have been mouthwatering, and she looks suited fresh in this company. Her versatility alone makes her hard to toss, and her cruising speed is exceptional. What a marvel!

Sheza Alibi has high expectation surrounding her. The Saxon Warrior was a brilliant winner of the time-honoured Doncaster in a canter, and I expect her to take the next step to weight-for-age during the spring. Her blistering turn of foot is scary, and the camp have a high opinion. I’d prefer to support her more deeply in her preparation rather than further.

Suggested Bet: Autumn Glow @ $1.90

Sandown hILLSIDE Race 7

#7 Cavalry Girl

Cavalry Girl is winning for fun at present. The Bivouac mare is building a picket fence next to her name, and she deserves her shot at this level on Saturday. I suspect she has the fitness edge on the majority of her rivals, and the early market support tells a story. Poorly weighted for this assignment, however; she is very progressive.

Beast Mode is a speed machine. The turf burner will lead the field a merry dance, and I suspect he will look the winner as heads turn for home. His record at the distance is outrageous, and he is knocking on the door. He tends to spend his pennies before the final furlong.

Suggested Bet: Cavalry Girl @ $4.00

Sandown hILLSIDE Race 8

#2 Tennessee Bound

Tennessee Bound is progressing through her grades successfully. The Written Tycoon mare has won three on the bounce, and this assignment looks more than achievable. The 2kg apprentice claim helps her plight, and the middle gate provides the talented five-year-old multiple options in the run. I suspect she will jump in the red, and the punters will come for her late in the day. The one to beat!

Moby Dick is over the odds. The Toronado gelding is always thereabouts, and he is racing better than it suggests in the bible. The distance suits to a tee, and I suspect the big boy is ready to explode after producing several teasing performances for the campaign. His recent winning record is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: Tennessee Bound @ $2.70
