Canterbury Park and Sandown Hillside are the places to be this Wednesday, with competitive fields and strong prize money on offer.

Canterbury Park Race 6

#7 Clear Proof

Clear Proof is over the odds. The Justify gelding is edging towards a peak performance for the campaign, and the current track conditions suit the big boy to a tee. The step out in trip is advantageous, and he has been specked at a price since acceptances were finalised. The inside draw puts him into all winning conversations, and he will have plenty of supporters, over the odds.

Watson can resume as a winner. The Capitalist gelding has been trialling exceptionally well leading into his first-up assignment, and his exposed form reads incredibly well for this event. The 2kg apprentice claim could prove decisive, and his fresh form must be respected. The Gai Waterhouse polish will play a role, and I expect his quote will continue to shorten before the barriers open. In the mix!

Written Scandal was a brilliant last-start winner at Wyong. The Written Tycoon mare deserves her shot in this line-up, and her double-figure opening quote has been more than nibbled at. The middle gate suits, and the enigmatic four-year-old enjoys getting her toe into the ground. A must for all broader multiples and exotics.

Suggested Bet: Clear Proof @ $18.00

Canterbury Park RACE 7

#2 Kenmare Bay

Kenmare Bay will start the race favourite after getting the chocolates at Randwick at his latest outing. The New Bay gelding meets similar opposition, and he finds his ideal conditions on Wednesday. His record at the track is near perfect, and the flood of early money tells a story. The inside draw suits, and he traditionally motors at this stage of his campaign. Hard to toss!

Pier Pressure is ready to explode. All runs this campaign have been building towards this run, and I suspect the camp have the Press Statement mare trained to the minute. The 3kg apprentice claim is advantageous, and the yard is flying at present. She looks the likely leader on paper, and the form around her has stood up time and again. The carpark draw is the primary concern.

Stockholm is winning for fun at present. The Bull Point gelding deserves his chance here, and the 3kg apprentice claim could prove a training masterstroke. He finds his pet distance on Wednesday, and I suspect he has the fitness edge on the majority of his rivals after a lengthy and fruitful campaign. The class rise is his biggest obstacle.

Suggested Bet: Kenmare Bay @ $5.00

Sandown Hillside Race 6

#2 Somewhere

Somewhere looks extremely well-placed, dropping back at mid-week company. The Puissance de Lune gelding has been racing well against some quality gallopers, and I suspect his best performance here would prove fences and panels better than his rivals. He is a winner previously third-up from a spell, and the 3kg apprentice claim could prove decisive. Major player!

Federer resumes after a long lay-off. The Dundeel gelding has turned heads recently at the jump-outs, and I suspect he will be forward enough to challenge fresh. His best performance here would prove more than good enough, and he comes into all winning calculations with the 3kg apprentice claim. The Ciaron Maher factor must be respected, and he his opening quote has been met with great support. Acid test!

Stonecoat can run a drum at the cricket-score odds. The Pierro gelding was good without winning fresh, and he strips fitter as a result of recent racing. He is a winner second-up previously, and he is a 1600m specialist. The middle gate provides a menagerie of options, and the camp after a respectful winning strike-rate in town.

Suggested Bet: Somewhere @ $5.00

Sandown Hillside Race 7

#6 Iced Poppy

Iced Poppy was a dominant last-start victor at Bendigo. The Frosted mare put her rivals to the sword a long way from home, and she deserves her opportunity in the big smoke on Wednesday. The step out in trip suits at this stage of her career, and she grows an extra leg with the sting out of the ground. The inform Lachlan King takes the reins, and the stable is airborne at present. Over the odds!

All Business is another runner with great each-way value. The Toronado mare is coming off a forgive run, and I suspect it may pay dividends to forgive and forget her latest outing. The apprentice claim could prove a training masterstroke, and she meets the usual suspects. Jumping from a different suburb is the primary concern.

Proven Soul will have plenty of supporters after producing a consistent campaign to date. The Justify mare is knocking on the door, and I suspect her next victory is just around the corner. She meets the usual suspects, and the tsunami of early money signals another bold, forward performance. She tends to find one or two better at the pointy end of a contest.

Suggested Bet: Iced Poppy @ $18.00
