The Queensland Oaks headlines a huge Saturday at Eagle Farm. Flemington host a tricky and competitive winter program in Melbourne.
Eagle Farm Race 6
#2 Pinito
Pinito looks like one of the better bets in a tricky, competitive program. The Trapeze Artist oozes class, and her first-up victory was outstanding. Her record at this stage of her campaign is rock-solid, and she finds her pet distance on Saturday. The big girl has a perfect inside draw, and I suspect the Chris Waller factor will attract further market support.
Pippie Beach is over the odds. The Maurice mare is racing better than it suggests in the bible, and I suspect this is her main assignment for the preparation. The inside draw helps her chances, and the Luke Nolen factor should never be underestimated. Rock hard-fit, and she is ready to rumble at a price!
Suggested Bet: Pinito @ $5.00
Eagle Farm Race 7
#4 Sun God
Sun God was a brilliant victor at Scone first-up from a spell. The Fastnet Rock gelding hit the line from a different postcode, and I suspect he has further improvement to come in this preparation. The longer trip suits, and this looks like another winnable event on paper. The consistent Tommy Berry takes the reins, and his opening quote has been well supported. The awkward alley and the hefty weight are the biggest deterrents.
King Zephyr is poised to strike! All runs this campaign have been good without winning, and he looks extremely well placed in this company. The tsunami of early money tells a story, and he should get the perfect cart into the pointy end of the event. The big boy oozes class, however, he has the ability to find trouble at the key stages of a race. Acid test!
Suggested Bet: Sun God @ $7.50
#1 Panova
Panova was a dominant winner of the Australasian Oaks. The Trapeze Artist filly was home and hosed before her rivals turned for home, and she has a fantastic opportunity to complete a rare Oaks double at Eagle Farm on Saturday. A recent jump-out will have her ready to fire on the big stage again, and the significant amount of early money indicates another bold and forward showing. The Chris Waller polish will play a role, and she is ideally drawn. The one to beat!
Soverato is too classy to dismiss. The Vadamos filly is ultra-consistent, and she should be rock-hard fit after a lengthy campaign. The step out in distance suits, and the current track conditions are advantageous. She has been specked at a price, and I suspect this has been the long-range target from the astute camp. Her racing pattern and style always require an element of good fortune.
Suggested Bet: Panova @ $3.60
Eagle Farm Race 9
#4 Zou Sensation
Zou Sensation can run a race at a decent price. The Zoustar gelding is always thereabouts, and his spring preparation was sublime. He was good, fresh, without troubling the scorers, and his best performance here would be more than good enough to take out this event. His second-up record must be respected, and he finds his pet distance. He will look like the winner as they cut the ribbons!
Uncommon James is ready to win. The rising eight-year-old looks back to his best, and he meets easier opposition. He is well placed and weighted under the race conditions, and his best here could prove a demolition job. His recent winning record and the tricky gate cast a shadow on his chances.
Suggested Bet: Zou Sensation @ $15.00
Flemington Race 7
#10 Shockletz
Shockletz is ready to win! Both runs this campaign have caught punters’ eyes late, and she comes in extremely well at the weights in this event. The longer journey suits more than an Uber driver, and the perfect inside draw should have her rivals more than nervous. Her spring form was rock-solid, and I expect her to jump as the race favourite. Yes please!
Thedoctoroflove can run a drum at a price. The So You Think gelding produced an ominous performance at headquarters fresh, and he put the writing on the wall for a second-up victory. The form around the SA Derby Winner Wigmore reads incredibly well for this event, and the 2000m looks ideal at this stage of his campaign. With even a little luck in transit, he can make his presence felt as they run for the doctor!
Suggested Bet: Shockletz @$5.00
Flemington Race 8
#14 She's Got The Cash
She’s Got The Cash is racing well at present. The Turn Me Loose filly has rubbed shoulders with some serious gallopers, and she finds a winnable assignment on Saturday. She attacked the line from a minute back at her latest outing, and some comes in extremely well at the weights after the apprentice claim. The inside draw is advantageous, and the predicted soft conditions suit. She may need some luck getting off the dulex as heads turn for home.
Certify is over the odds. The Justify colt was luckless at his latest outing, and his form prior was near perfect. He meets easier opposition here, and I suspect it may pay dividends to forgive and forget his latest trip to the races. The cherry draw puts him into all winning conversations, and the camp are training winners for fun at present. A must for all broader multiples and exotics.
Suggested Bet: She’s Got The Cash @ $7.00
