The Group 2 The Ingham is the main event this Saturday at Randwick. With $2,000,000 up for grabs, a bumper and festive local crowd is expected in the eastern suburbs! In Victoria, Pakenham host the Listed Pakenham Cup meeting. The $1,000,000 Supernova for the sprinters also features on the massive card of racing!
Randwick Race 7
#1 Asterix
Asterix is racing well at present. The Tavistock gelding was a dominant last start winner, and he looks incredibly well placed into this company. His loves the journey more than an Uber driver, and the form around him is elite. Jumping from another suburb is the biggest deterrent.
Hollywood Hero will start race favourite after a solid preparation to date. The Sacred Falls gelding is racing well without winning, and he looks well placed in this company. The middle gate provides plenty of options in the run, and he has been heavily supported in most all-in markets. He tends to find one or two better at the point end of a contest.
Suggested Bet: Asterix @ $5.50
Randwick Race 8
#3 Estadio Mestalla
Estadio Mestalla represents great each way value. The Galileo Gold gelding is flying at present, and his last-start performance at Kembla Grange was braver than Mel Gibson! The forever young seven-year-old has rubbed shoulders with some serious gallopers over the journey, and I suspect this is his grand final for his current campaign. Over the odds!
Gringotts is the class galloper of the field. The Per Incanto is winning for fun at present, and the Group 1 winner meets similar opposition. His loves a Randwick mile more than Tommy Smith, and he is an absolute marvel. The hefty weight and the carpark barrier draw hurst his prospects.
Suggested Bet: Estadio Mestalla @ $10.00
#3 Barber
Barber is poised to strike third-up from a spell. Both runs this preparation have been super without scoring, and I suspect this is his main assignment for the current preparation. His turn off foot is significant, and he looks well placed in this company. His opening double figure quote vanished in an instance, and he maps really well from into this race from an ideal middle gate. He needs to notch up another win on the board for his loyal supporters!
Coal Crusher romped in at his latest outing at beautiful Broadmeadow. It was an easy watch for his camp, and I suspect he strips fitter for Saturday’s assignment. The resilient Turffontein gelding led his rivals from barrier to post, and he finds his favourite conditions here. Joseph pride is training winners for fun at present, and the flood of money indicates another bold and prominent showing. The large weight is his biggest challenge.
Suggested Bet: Barber @ $7.00
Pakenham Race 7
#11 Black Run
Black Run is winning for fun at present. The Nathaniel gelding is chasing his fourth consecutive victory, and he looks extremely well placed in this company. The step out in trip suits, and his camp are airbourne at present. The 54kg is a luxury, and the middle gate provides his young apprentice with plenty of options in the run. Hard to toss!
Ziryab will have plenty of supporters after producing a consistent campaign to date. The Kingman gelding is knocking on the door, and I suspect his next victory is just around the corner. The inside draw will allow him to roll forward and pilot the field, and if he can control the tempo throughout, he will look the winner as they run for the doctor. His winning record is the primary concern.
Suggested Bet: Black Run @ $5.50
Pakenham Race 8
#3 Private Eye
Private Eye looks the best bet on a tricky and competitive program. The Al Maher gelding oozes class despite his age, and he comes in extremely well under the weight scale. The 1400m suits the big boy at this stage of his preparation and career, and I suspect if he produces his best, it could prove a times and margins job. Push the chips in!
Taken can run a race at a double figure quote. The Ardrossan gelding has a picket fence next to his name, and he deserves his shot at this level on Saturday. The progressive four-year-old should be rock-hard fit after a lengthy and fruitful campaign, and I suspect he has been trained to the minute for Saturday’s $1,000,000 feature. Over the odds!
Suggested Bet: Private Eye @ $2.10
Pakenham Race 9
#7 Persian Spirit
Persian Spirit has been a revelation this spring. The Cable Bay gelding bolted in at Flemington two starts back, and his recent effort at Caulfield was super game in defeat. The big boy recorded some of the fastest splits on the program, and he put the writing on the wall for a next start victory. He has been crunched in most all-in markets, and I expect him to jump in the red.
Enxuto is racing well without winning. All runs this preparation have been honest, and the form around him has stood up time and again. The inside draw brings him into all winning conversations, and he finds his pet distance on Saturday. The allocated weight is a luxury, and I suspect he will be met with significant late support. Major danger!
Suggested Bet: Persian Spirit @ $2.40
