Warwick Farm Race 5

#7 Island Dream

Great weather for ducks in old Sydney town! Island Dream looks one of the better bets on a tricky and competitive mid-week program. The Divine Prophet mare was a brilliant last-start winner at Canterbury, and she meets easier opposition here. I suspect there is still further improvement to come with two solid runs under the belt, and the mile looks ideal at this stage of her campaign. I am unsure the tight turning circuit will suit her racing pattern and style.

Fairway Star is a model of consistency. The Spieth mare has hardly put a foot wrong this campaign, and the perfect inside draw should put her key rivals on notice. Her record at the distance is near perfect, and she loves Warwick Farm more than Tie The Knot. I’d prefer to promote her on top of the ground.

Misterkipchoge is racing better than it suggests in the bible. The Ocean Park gelding has been freshened after a string of outs, and this looks a very winnable assignment for the gritty five-year-old. Barrier four will allow him to occupy the box-seat throughout, and if he sees clear air as they run for the doctor, he may prove hard to hold out. His record in the mud is hard to get excited about.

Suggested Bet: Island Dream @ $5.00

Warwick Farm RACE 6

#4 Signor Tortoni

Signor Tortoni is racing extremely well at present. The Too Darn Hot gelding hasn’t missed a drum since the moon landing, and I suspect he will appreciate the significant drop in grade. The progressive four-year-old is ready for the step out in trip, and the inside draw puts one hoof on the till. His record in the wet speaks volumes, and there has been a tsunami of money for the big boy early doors. The one to beat!

The Replicant represents great value each way. The Tivaci gelding is super honest and a genuine swimmer. The seven-year-old looks extremely well placed in this company, and he always performs well over the journey. The veteran galloper looks dangerous on the quick backup, and he always performs well at his home track. In the mix!

Duke Of Camden can play a role. The Trapeze Artist gelding was a dominant winner at his latest outing at Goulburn, and he deserves his shot at this level. He should arrive in town up and about after his recent performances, and I suspect he will have supporters at a decent each-way quote. A must for all broader multiples and exotics.

Suggested Bet: Signor Tortoni @ $4.00

Sandown Lakeside Race 6

#4 Here The Crowd

Here The Crowd is ready to win. The Trapeze Artist mare has savaged the line at her latest two outings, and I suspect her next victory i just around the corner. The consistent five-year-old meets the usual suspects, and the 3kg apprentice claim puts one hoof on the till. The drop back in trip is advantageous, and with even luck in transit, I expect her to figure in the finish. Her recent winning record is the biggest deterrent.

Climb The Ladder arrives in Melbourne boasting excellent Sydney form. The lightly raced Ardrossan gelding has shown glimpses of his talent in all of his outings to date, and if he can put his potential together for the four quarters, he could win this event in a canter. The drier conditions will suit the big boy, and the inside draw puts him into all winning conversations. I’d prefer to support his case deeper into his preparation.

The well named Hot Chips is over the odds. The Toronado mare has been winning for fun on the country and provincial circuits, and she deserves her opportunity in town on Wednesday. The 1300m is her pet distance; her versatility could prove the winning difference. The perfect inside draw should give her supporters more confidence, and I suspect she has the fitness edge on the majority of her rivals. Take on trust.

Suggested Bet: Here The Crowd @ $6.00

Sandown Lakeside Race 7

#9 Documentary

Documentary is ready to win. Both runs this campaign have been good without threatening, and the step out in trip is ideal for his third-up assignment. He looks well placed in his company, and the current track conditions suit to a tee. The Bon Hoffa gelding is drawn perfectly in a middle gate, and he has been well supported since acceptances were finalised. Hard to toss.

Enright is too consistent to pot. The Yes Yes Yes gelding caught the eye fresh at the track over five furlongs, and I suspect he strips fitter as a result of his honest first-up performance. His record at the trip must be respected, and he is undefeated second-up from a spell. Jumping from a different suburb is the primary concern.

Princess Que looks talented. The Toronado mare was a stunning winner on her resumption to racing, and I suspect the enigmatic four-year-old is in for a lengthy and fruitful campaign. The Simon Zahra commodity is a six-furlong specialist, and she looks the likely leader on paper. Acid test!

Suggested Bet: Documentary @ $4.50
