Warwick Farm and Caulfield Heath are the feature meetings this Wednesday. With Christmas in the rear-view mirror and with autumn features just around the corner, mid-week racing has never looked so good!

Warwick Farm Race 4

#5 Bartolf

Bartolf was a brilliant second-up winner at Newcastle. The So You Think colt possesses a sharp turn of foot, and I suspect there is still plenty of improvement to come for the preparation. His record at the trip must be respected, and he is ideally drawn in barrier three. The enigmatic three-year-old has upside for days and has been heavily supported since acceptances. Hard to toss.

Codetta is racing in great spirit. The Nicconi filly narrowly missed out on recording a hatrick of victories at her latest outing, and she looks well placed in this company. The 2kg apprentice claim brings her into all winning conversations, and she is unbeaten at the trip. She has the fitness edge on the majority of her rivals, and I expect her to be involved at the pointy end of the contest.

The Years resumes with an air of expectation. The Time Test gelding is coming off a string of sizzling barrier trials, and his prior form reads exceptionally well for this race. The Waterhouse and Bott factor must be respected, and I suspect he will be cherry-ripe for a first-up tilt. He will look the winner as they run for the doctor.

Suggested Bet: Bartolf @ $3.30

Warwick Farm RACE 6

#1 Wondereach

Wondereach is over the odds. The Outreach gelding produced a slashing fresh run, and he strips fitter for his second-up assignment. The consistent five-year-old is a 1000m specialist, and I suspect he will pilot the field with a clean break from a middle draw. He meets easier opposition, and the key appointment of Jay Ford could prove the winning difference. Too honest to dismiss.

Storm The Ramparts was good without winning first-up at Randwick. The Headwater gelding caught the eyes of punters late, and I suspect he entered most racing enthusiasts’ little black book. He traditionally performs well at this campaign stage and finds his pet distance on Wednesday. He will be savaging the line late.

Outback Miss looks poised to strike. The Rubick mare boasts superior Victorian form, and her recent barrier trials were ominous. The 1000m is in her wheelhouse, and there has been an avalanche of early money for the talented four-year-old. She gets in exceptionally well at the weights, and I suspect she has been set for a first-up tilt. The wide draw is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: Wondereach @ $9.50

Caulfield Heath Race 6

#11 Ginger Sweet

Ginger Sweet is ready to peak. Both runs this campaign have been building towards a third-up assault, and the 1800m looks cherry-ripe for Wednesday’s assignment. The inform Blake Shinn has a good association with the talented four-year-old, and the Gelagotis camp are training winners for fun at present. If she is presented with her run at the right time, she will be extremely hard to beat.

Expeetee represents great each way value. All runs this preparation have been solid, and I expect her to occupy the box seat throughout from a perfect inside draw. The current track conditions will suit, and her double figure quote has been nibbled at since acceptances. The sharp class rise and stronger opposition are among the primary concerns.

Chakado is knocking on the door. The Toronado gelding has hardly missed a top four finish in his career to date, and he has been crying out for the longer trip since Joe Biden fell off his first dinosaur. He meets the right opposition, and I suspect his quote will continue to shorten before the barriers open. His recent winning record is the biggest detterent.

Suggested Bet: Ginger Sweet @ $4.50

Caulfield Heath Race 7

#13 Dragoon

Dragoon is flying at present. The Grunt gelding is looking to make it a hatrick of victories, and he meets similar opposition. The traditional backmarker has a huge engine under his bonnet, and this race maps perfectly for the big boy. The predicated frenetic on speed tempo plays into his favour, and the avalanche of early money suggests he still has improvement to come for the campaign. He looks one of the better bets on a competitive and tricky mid-week program.

Kings Valley is racing in career-best form. The Territories gelding hasn’t missed the quinella this campaign, and he looks well placed in this company. The 1800m won’t pose any problems, and the Ciaron Maher polish should never be underestimated. If he can continue to improve, I suspect he will figure in the finish again. Acid test.

The well-named Dictionary is over the odds. Both runs this campaign have been cheeky, and I suspect he is ready to explode third-up from a spell. His form is better than it reads in the bible, and the 3kg apprentice claim throws the Raygun amongst the pigeons. From barrier four, he will ping the lids and roll forward, and if he can find the bunny uncontested, he will prove hard to run down. A must for all broader exotics and multiples.

Suggested Bet: Dragoon @ $3.30
