Rosehill Gardens and Bendigo are feature mid-week meetings this Wednesday. With plenty of prizemoney up for grabs, find out who our experts are expecting to take home the cash!
Rosehill Gardens Race 5
#2 Congregation
Congregation is ready to win. The Snitzel entire savaged the line at his latest outing, and I suspect he is ready to explode over the longer trip. The James McDonald and Chris Waller factor will attract further market support, and he looks dangerous jumping from a perfect inside draw. Hard to toss.
Empire Of Art makes his Australian debut. The Best Solution gelding boasts exceptional international form, and his best performance here could be fences and panels better than his rivals. The enigmatic four-year-old is coming off a string of impressive barrier trials, and he has been well supported in early markets. Take on trust.
Dazzle Legend is racing well without winning. The Zoustar gelding is rock-hard fit after a solid preparation to date, and this looks a winnable assignment for the precocious four-year-old. From barrier six the big boy will slide back and watch the race unfold, and if he doesn’t get too far out of his ground during the early stages of the race, he can threaten late.
Suggested Bet: Congregation @ $3.00
Rosehill Gardens RACE 6
#2 Turned Down
Turned Down was a brilliant last-start winner at Kembla Grange. The Staphanos gelding strips fitter after his heroics fresh, and he looks well placed meeting similar opposition. The 3kg apprentice claim is advantageous, and I suspect he will appreciate the longer trip at this stage of his campaign. Major player.
Drift Net was good without threatening first-up from a spell. The Exceed And Excel mare give her all on top of the speed, and she was brave defeat. Her second-up record must be respected, and she finds her pet distance on Wednesday. She will be fitter for her recent outing, and I expect her to pilot the field with a clean break from the barriers.
Piercing Arrow is ready to peak. Both runs this campaign have been ominous, and I suspect she will appreciate a firmer track here. From the awkward gate, she will roll forward and take up a favourable position, and if she can find some cover during the run, she can threaten late. Her fate may be determined during the early stages of the race.
Suggested Bet: Turned Down @ $13.00
Bendigo Race 6
#5 Legendary Diva
Legendary Diva is flying this campaign. The Written Tycoon deserves her shot at this level, and she looks very progressive. She won’t have any issues with the 1000m, and I suspect she will occupy the box seat throughout. Blake Mc Dougall already has a winning association with the Hayes camp four-year-old, and there has been an avalanche of early money for her since markets opened. Big watch!
Tapo looks well placed dropping back in class. The Frosted mare was good without winning in a hot form race at Moonee Valley, and she traditionally performs well third-up from a spell. Barrier one puts one hoof on the till, and the 3kg apprentice claim could prove the winning difference. Her recent winning record is the primary concern.
Keane Enuff will have supporters after producing a consistent campaign to date. The Rich Enuff gelding finds his pet distance, and I suspect he has the fitness edge on the majority of his rivals. The drop in class is advantageous, and he is ideally drawn in a middle gate. The grandstand weight is the biggest deterrent.
Suggested Bet: Legendary Diva @ $4.50
Bendigo Race 7
#4 Freud
Freud started his career on a winning note. The So You Think gelding will springboard off his first-up romp, and he looks dangerous jumping from a perfect inside draw. He has been crunched since acceptances were finalised, and the mile looks ideal second-up. The class rise is his biggest obstacle.
Private Jumbo is always thereabouts. The Reward For Effort gelding is ultra-consistent, and he looks well-placed in this company. The 3kg apprentice claim could prove a training masterstroke, and I expect him to ping and find the bunny during the race’s early stages. He needs to put another victory on the board!
Ashau Valley was a brilliant first-up winner. The Outreach gelding strips fitter and the step out to the mile is ideal. The versatile four-year-old handles all conditions, and the Benchmark 64 level won’t pose any problems. It may pay dividends to watch for any significant market support.
Suggested Bet: Freud @ $6.50
