NFL Week 6 Tips and Previews, Thursday 13th October

After a week of upsets and injuries, it's a different NFL landscape. BetDeluxe looks at the value to find in an intriguing week 5.

Some big clashes under lights headline this week’s NFL action

Our team of experts have analysed all the form and markets for a big week ahead.

Chicago vs. Washington

14th October 11:15am

While this might not be the type of game traditionally associated with prime time football, it looms as a fascinating match up that could go towards shaping the NFC playoffs.

Chicago was unlucky not to get the win over Minnesota last week with Darnell Mooney shaking off his early-season funk to secure an early touchdown. But while Justin Fields threw a season-high 208 yards last week, the Bears are still too reliant on their running game which hasn’t been too much of a threat.

Washington is languishing at just one win so far this season but that could’ve very easily been two were it not for a late Carson Wentz pick. Their running game was completely ineffective against Tennessee last week and they need more from their offence.

Their chance this week lies with their defensive team, which is renowned for putting pressure on the Quarterback. If they can stifle Fields early they may be a threat here.

Suggested Bet – Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Darnell Mooney anytime touchdown scorer
Leg 2: Darnell Mooney over 29.5 receiving yards
Leg 3: Bears -1.5
Total: $7

Philadelphia vs. Dallas

17th October 11:20am

Philadelphia just keeps on keeping on, sitting 5-0 as the only undefeated team in the league so far. But that run faces its biggest test against NFC East Rival Dallas who have also enjoyed an impressive start to the season despite losing Quarterback Dak Prescott at the start of the season. The Eagles have gained a reputation for their strong starts and there is no reason they can’t do it again, riding the hot arm of Quarterback Jaylen Hurts who is combining beautifully with a strong receiving core while also running the ball into the end zone himself.

Prescott’s replacement Cooper Rush has impressed but he was below par in last week’s win over the Rams. He is likely to still be a starter this week but even if he is, he won’t be Dallas’ most influential player. That mantle sits with destructive defender Micah Parsons who did as he pleased last week and will be on the mind of Hurts and the Eagles offence.

Suggested Bet: Eagles first team to score at $1.62

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos

18th October 11:15am

The much-heralded arrival of Russell Wilson, much like Wilson’s throwing, hasn’t met its anticipated target this year. Some bizarre play-calling in the crucial plays has cost the Broncos dearly this season. Wilson and coach Nathaniel Hackett don’t seem to be on the same page so far, a problem that has been compounded by the recent injury to running back Javonte Williams.

Los Angeles is another team yet to live up to its hype but it has eked out three wins and looks to be hitting its rhythm after a slow start. Justin Herbert has been impressive through injury and is clicking with Mike Williams who is a damaging presence in the receiving team. Throw in Austin Ekeler who is one of the best running backs in the league in white hot form and this is an offence that is not easily curtailed.

Suggested Bet: Chargers win at $1.41
