preview

Looking to bounce back from a close loss against Geelong last week, Brisbane is on home soil at the Gabba against Collingwood on Thursday night.

The Lions were left rueing some missed opportunities and questionable umpiring decisions in the 10-point loss to Geelong at GMHBA Stadium, while Collingwood failed to deliver against an undermanned West Coast.

Brisbane has been sent in as a heavy $1.19 favourite and within reason to given how strong it is has looked through patches in 2022.

The Pies will get a handful of players back into their team with Jordan De Goey being the biggest name of the late, but a shoulder injury to Jamie Elliott means Collingwood lose a heap of attacking flair in the forward half.

Taylor Adams comes back from COVID protocols and he will surely be tasked with keeping a watchful on in-form Lions midfielder Lachie Neale.

Brisbane does deserve the tag of favourite here and the last time it faced Geelong at this venue it ended up being a 22.10.142 to 8.9.57 hiding in its favour.

If the Lions midfield gets off the leash and Joe Daniher is allowed to do as he pleases, this has the makings of another ten-goal plus win.

Suggested Bets: Brisbane -30.5 at $1.90

Overs, overs, overs.

Cannot stress this game going overs anymore than we are here.

With conditions set to be ideal for football, there is no reason for these teams not to open this game up and play a free-flowing brand.

Last year’s game went well over the 171.5 points set for this fixture in 2022.

The Lions look to have improved and the Pies offence seems to be in a better rhythm than last year.

Suggested Bets: Total points scored over 171.5 at $1.87

same game multi

Get the feeling, based on numbers, this Lions midfield is going to stack up some big numbers.

Lachie Neale just has to be thrown into the multi at some level as does Jarrad Lyons.

Both players had big games against the Pies in Round 22 last season.

Jordan De Goey will be itching to get on the scoreboard after missing the loss to West Coast last week.

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Brisbane Lions -30.5
Leg 2: Total points overs 171.5
Leg 3: L. Neale 30+ disposals
Leg 4: J. Lyons 30+ disposals
Leg 5: J. De Goey anytime goal
Combined odds = $13
