Geelong hosts an eight-race card for Wednesday racing in Victoria.
All the best bets from the BetDeluxe racing team with one of our best of the day coming up in the first on the program.
geelong race 1
#13 queen of nations
Queen Of Nations has shown fantastic progression from jump out to jump out ahead of her racing debut.
The two-year-old filly zipped along with good early in her first jump out over 800 metres and was not bustled out in the last bit to run fourth.
She then ran a slick time in her second jump out, which was nearly a four-second improvement on her first effort.
Get the feeling she is ready to explode on race day and she could be a very nice horse going forward.
Middle barrier will be offset by getting herself into a forward position and she has enough talent to be easily running in the top three.
Suggested Bet: Queens Of Nations each-way at $5.5 the win and $2.15 the place.
geelong race 4
#3 springvale road
Want to be with the un-raced horse here in the form of Springvale Road.
His jump outs have been nothing to rant about to the eye, but get the inkling he is being purely saved for race day.
He finished last of eight in his first jump out and then managed a fifth-placed effort at his most recent over 1000 metres at Hamilton.
His jockey barely bustled him up at all during both and he is the only horse in this field without any convictions to his name.
Lindsey Smith is a very astute trainer and seems to have placed this galloper into a very winnable race on debut.
Taking this bet on trust.
Suggested Bet: Springvale Road win at $4.6
Suggested Exotic: 3 & 7
geelong race 6
#2 I am ready
I Am Ready returns to the track after a little six-week freshen up.
Lloyd Kennwell looks to have found the trick to getting her to run well and that is keeping her runs spaced out.
She finally put it all together at Ararat last start over 1100 metres when she bolted in with a five-length victory.
She has to step up in grade for this race and that is offset slightly by carrying 1kg less than she did in BM-58 grade last start.
Doubt the weight will have too much of a factor though, with the market likely to hone in on where she maps in the run.
She is the likely leader of the race and Craig Newitt now has a good affiliation with her.
He rode her for the first time last start and was the main reason for getting the victory after a daring front-running display.
Hoping he can employ similar tactics here.
Suggested Bet: I Am Ready win at $4.20
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 6, 7.
geelong race 7
#13 trodaire
Trodaire worked himself all the way up to BM-80 level last preparation.
His last run before being spelled was a run in BM-80 grade where he was far from disgraced over the mile at Bendigo behind Saccharo.
The jump outs he has had to date have not looked amazing to the eye, but he has come up against some strong opposition in each.
Lloyd Kennewell’s stable is going strongly at the moment and this horse can run well on an each-way basis from a soft barrier.
Hoping Zac Spain can settle him within striking distance at the home bend.
Suggested Bet: Trodaire each-way at $11 the win and $3.3 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 5, 9, 13
