The best tips and previews from a big Thursday night card at Sandown Park brought to you by the greyhound experts at BetDeluxe.

The BetDeluxe Thursday-night greyhound preview from the 12-race card at Sandown Park.

The best of the night comes towards the back end of the program and the confidence of our analysts could not be any higher.

#4 well grounded

Angela Langton prepares Well Grounded for this attack at the Sandown 515-metre circuit.

The veteran chaser is having start number 86 and this is a step down in grade from what he has been running against at his last few runs.

He ran well behind the smart Yozo Bale last start and this race shapes up nicely for him as it looks as though he will get a tail to follow into the race.

Whistling Bullett, who has drawn his immediate inside, will shoot away when the lids open and it should give Well Grounded the room he needs from the squeeze box to be at his best.

Suggested Bet: Well Grounded each-way at $5.5 the win and $2 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 3 ,4

sandown park race 3

#5 bearish

Having a speculative play at Bearish on each-way basis in this 595-metre event.

He is yet to run over this distance range, but it might be to his benefit given his running pattern over shorter distances.

He usually needs to have luck on his side as he is somewhat of a tardy beginner, but he has shown his ability to ping the lids as he did in his victory at The Meadows three starts ago.

This opposition is a little more dour than he has been running against and it might just see him find a spot closer to the lead than he usually finds.

If he gets room early and can find the lead, he can run a great race, but it will be the last 50 metres that might leave him a bit vulnerable, hence the each-way gamble.

Suggested Bet: Bearish each-way at $8 the win and $2.05 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 5

#8 amnesty

Giving Amnesty another chance to give us a winning collect after she was outgunned by the heavily-backed Handsome Rhino last weekend.

She races only five days after that event at The Meadows and that gives us the sign that she is peak physical condition.

Her record at the track and distance at Sandown reads six starts for three wins and a placing and she handles box eight well.

She will hopefully get the room she needs to spool up that big engine of hers.

Tough to beat with a clear passage to the first bend.

Suggested Bet: Amnesty win at $4.60

#3 decimate

The price differential between Decimate and Big Opal Rocks looks ridiculous.

Decimate comes up a $4.4 elect in this race, whereas Big Opal Rocks is the odds-on favourite and that means we have to back Decimate based on the last time these two dogs went head to head.

Decimate beat home Big Opals Rocks despite starting a longer price, but he did to jump from box six and beat his rival here quite easily.

Since then, Decimate has run in a competitive race as a $2.2 favourite, and, although he was well beaten, he did have excuses for the underwhelming performance.

Big Opal Rocks has only had a trial run and the $1.75 quote just cannot be justified.

Making Decimate the best of the night.

Suggested Bet: Decimate win at $4.2
