The BetDeluxe NBL preview leads us into a weekend of big fixtures as Melbourne United looks to hold fort atop of the table.

Melbourne United takes us into the BetDeluxe NBL preview for Thursday when it takes on Perth.

All the best bets and tips for a big set of NBL fixtures.

melbourne united vs. perth wildcats

march 10th 7:30pm

Last year’s grand final duo in Melbourne United and the Perth Wildcats meet at John Cain Arena for the second time this season.

Since winning the NBL championship last season, United has showed no signs of slowing down and currently occupies first place on the NBL standings this season.

United got the win over Perth back on February 12 after a 93-87 result at John Cain Arena despite the best efforts of Bryce Cotton.

The Wildcats sit in third spot at the moment – a game behind South East Melbourne Phoenix – but they do have a game in hand on both the Phoenix and United.

After three consecutive losses through the month of February, the Wildcats made amends with wins over Tasmania and Adelaide – teams they should be beating.

Cotton and Vic Law looked slick in the 92-73 win over the 36ers on Sunday and will need to be at their best to get over a United team which has contributors all over the floor.

The home-ground advantage for United is going to be critical here and it is clearly playing the better basketball than the Wildcats.

Have to side with the home team to do make it two from two against Perth this season.

Suggested Bets: Melbourne United -4.5 at $1.93

cairns taipans vs. tasmania jackjumpers

march 11th 7:30pm

The Tassie JackJumpers will try to make up ground on the top five when they face the Cairns Taiapns at Cairns Convention Centre.

The JackJumpers have defied all the odds this season and have put themselves in with a chance to make the playoffs.

Cairns stands in the way of Tasmania as a $1.70 favourite for this contest despite losing its last two games by double figures.

Losing to United and the Kings is not something to get too beat down about, and they will be hoping the form of guard Scott Machado can really count for something in the win-loss department.

Machado returned to form strongly with a 26-point effort against Sydney after being well handled by Melbourne United.

Cairns already has a win over Tasmania this season, which will give it confidence heading into this clash.

Going with the home to cover the spread and get the win.

Suggested Bets: Cairns Taipans -2.5 at $1.96
