Back to The Meadows for Saturday night greyhound racing as the BetDeluxe greyhound experts find all the best bets ahead of the 11-race card.
The meadows race 1
#8 speak up
Speak Up is the one to be with here after two luckless runs in a row.
He won his maiden back in November by a whisker but has since been chopped out for a run at his last two starts and now enters a race where he should have some space to manoeuvre.
Box eight gives him the chance to stride out and stay out wide until he has built up enough speed to hopefully cross over and find the front heading towards the first bend.
His advantage over the current favourite Soda Success is the fact he has had the run at The Meadows and will have an understanding of the surroundings.
Suggested Bet: Speak Up win at $3
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 3, 7, 8
the meadows race 3
#5 jye's jet
Taking a set against the five based purely on the price and siding in the camp of Jye’s Jet.
He draws the yellow lid, but the small field should ensure he does not get squeezed up and cramped for a run.
He should be able to tag the back of Levi Bale who will take him into the race heading into the first turn.
If his run last start in a time of 30.80 at The Meadows is anything to by, he is going to go mighty close to winning this.
Suggested Bet: Jye’s Jet win at $4.2
Suggested Exotic: Exacta 5 & 4
the meadows race 6
#6 King of Calypso
Backing King of Calypso to climb all over the top of this field and mow them down late in the race to win.
He was a bit unlucky when defeated as a $3.10 elect behind the smart Party Lights at The Meadows, but he gets better set up here from a wide box draw.
The key for him in this race is the empty box right next door to him.
It will give him a heap of space to build up his revs and find clear air heading into the first turn and the back straight.
Hoping Handsome Rhino and Fernando Cazz duel and bump early from their inside barriers, so King of Calypso can use his momentum to fly past them.
Suggested Bet: King of Calypso win at $4.6
The Meadows race 7
#5 Subtle Art
Produced a very slick 30.18 win at The Meadows over 525 metres two starts ago and then found a bit of trouble last week over the same course and distance.
Thinking the market will really warm to his fast personal best time at the track and he could very well start the favourite.
Doubt box five will prove too much of an issue either given there does not look to be an abundance of early speed in this event.
The only danger is the eight, but if he can hold that dog out and lead into the first bend then he is the one to beat.
Suggested Bet: Subtle Art win at $2.8
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 5/ 8/ Field
