Group 1 racing from Moonee Valley tonight with the running of the Manikato Stakes.
The BetDeluxe crew finds the best bets and value propositions ahead of the eight-race card with an old boy sporting the blinkers ready to fire on all cylinders!
Moonee Valley Race 1
#8 True Nobility
Scorched his way to victory in a Hamilton maiden last start when chasing down a hot speed to win running away.
With the inclement weather set to cast itself over Melbourne, he might just very well appreciate the give in the ground better than most of this field, which would render him over the odds at the moment.
He ran very slick time in his win a fortnight ago and a repeat of that effort plus the natural fitness improvement will see him run a nice each-way race at good odds.
Suggested Bet: True Nobility each-way at $10 the win and $4 the place
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 5 & 8
Moonee valley race 4
#1 So Si Bon
The old marvel from the Hayes stable is ready to peak into this VOBIS Gold race.
He whacked away well behind Buffalo River and Kahma Lass when second-up from a spell last start and that effort is going to have him thriving physically.
The clear sign of intent from the stable here is the blinkers going on which will ensure he finds an extra length or two, which is what is needed to be winning this race.
Draws a peach of a barrier and Luke Nolen can really dictate this race by finding the one-out and one-back position in the run.
Making him the best of the night.
Suggested Bet: So Si Bon win at $3.2
Moonee Valley Race 5
#8 The Last Napolean
We have two horses dominating the head of the market, but leaning the way of The Last Napolean who is going to be the sniper late in the race.
He had to carry 63kgs at Warrnambool last start on a very soft track and failed to let down with his finishing burst.
The drop down to 55.5kgs in this event combined with the hot early speed will see him as the horse flashing home in attempt to run down Yulong Command and Easy Single.
He is massive odds at the moment and looks worthy of an each-way peanut.
Suggested Bet: The Last Napoleon each-way at $15 the win and $3.7 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 5, 6, 7, 8
Moonee Valley RAce 7
#4 Savatoxl
The winner of the Schillaci Stakes who has clearly been aimed at this race.
There looks to be a bit of speed engage early in this race, so expect Luke Currie to press forward and then let those horses inside of him kick up so he can take cover and save his energy for the last 200 metres of the race.
He has a fantastic Group 1 win in his repertoire thanks to victory in the Goodwood Stakes earlier this year when he defeated the likes of Gytrash and Dirty Work.
This field is arguably one of the weakest Manikato Stakes we have seen for a while, which only enhances his chances.
There is every reason to believe he can run a similar, if not, better race than he did when winning the Goodwood after the fight and tenacity he showed in his win a fortnight ago and that means he has to go on top.
Suggested Bet: Savatoxl win at $4.8
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 4/ 2, 8/ 2, 6, 8
